Oof, after spending quite a bit of time with an AI trying to kill him and more recently another who'd like to dissect/vivisect him given the chance, to meet someone he'd likely start calling a friend only to loose them almost instantly to a heroic sacrifice...as if he didn't have enough weighing on his psyche.
Still, if the vast majority of the mutants are on that ship, I suppose the station is significantly safer after this, and the few that bailed (if I remember right) might be willing to leave John alone.
