It’s licking a tree to attract the bugs its feeds on, for its long tongue has a kind of coating that the bugs of the area likes. Because of how good it is at making bug-traps, with how easy it is to feed them, they have become a common household pet/plant. But, it should be warned that they may have a tendency to lick anything that doesn’t move, so watch out for that, and one more thing there saliva is very sticky, and will last in the rain with heavy downpour for days.
