Beth is a scottish terrier and every bit as characterful as she sounds! she knew the moment her owners were going to go on holiday and she'd be waiting by the door. she's march up and down the decking area of their holiday home with determined steps watching the birds, growling at the magpies and watching the cats that stalked the trees with nests in. Beth was a quiet dog really but was mouthy when another dog, on or off lead would approach her garden, her tail would stick upright and stiff and she'd give a good mouthful before huffing and trotting away like a champion, she was never aggressive. every evening was her favourite time to have a whole carrot sliced up. Beth always wore her red collar and a chain collar. Sadly she became diabetic and suddenly took a worse turn and passed away peacefully at their home in Sherringham. Beth was not the first Scottie her owners had, her predecessor Mack was as much a character as Beth was, sadly the owners never found any pictures of Mack to get a portrait done of him.

This painting was one of the last ones completed before my Graphics Tablet broke, when I bought a replacement the new Tablet was incompatible with the art program I'd been using to draw these portraits, so Beth is among the last ones completed and most likely the best done on that art program.
