Remember Nigel's older than Toby, and between the two of them, people would probably assume Toby's the older one considering he's well developed and Nigel's a scrawny individual. I highly doubt forced aging will be done here, or will even be a factor. Also they technically are adults, or more accurately young adults. Aging Nigel with the way he is now, would actually work against him.
Hmmm... Maybe the Tree will show to Nigel by vision the reality of the world, like the war against the Corruption, the poors, the people starving, the rich minority taking advantages the of the majority, etc...
In that way, Nigel could have his eyes opened for good and change his behavior.

Okay, unless I'm mistaken, this is the second time that Luna has decided to intervene on someone's behalf, though based on the circumstances, I don't think it's going to be a benevolent action, like in Miralle's case, considering she's apologizing for what she's about to do.
Which makes me wonder what exactly is she going to do? I highly doubt she's going to erase or supress his memories, cause that seems a bit extreme even for Nigel. I'm guessing putting a handicap on him maybe? Or force him to use his "gift" I think? Honestly whatever it is she's doing, it can't be good for Nigel, or at the very least it's supposed to help Nigel in the long run, but Nigel's still going to suffer in the beginning, considering again, she's apologizing to him.

I'm sure Luna's made many benevolent actions towards others, however in this case I don't believe what she's going to do to Nigel is benevolent, considering the serious expression she has on her face, and the fact she's apologising in advance for what she's about to do.
I'm assuming she's going to do something to Nigel, that will, lets say, force him to break away from his narrow minded view of things, but the method in which she intends to do this won't be pleasant for him. That's how I see it anyway.

This would in fact be the third, possibly fourth if you count Tristan, time she's intervened. She took in and fostered Miralle, she took guardianship over Chilli when she ran away, she counseled and offered guidance to Tristan (who didn't seem to really take it to heart right away, but it seems to have grown on him since). In fact one could say this is the fifth time we're shown a proper "intervention" by Luna, since she's now intervening for a second time for Nigel specifically.
Her approach seems to be one of, "I will tell you what it is you need to hear, but it is up to you to listen. I don't want to force you into anything, but I will help you with almost anything if you ask it of me." This instance seems like it will indeed be a forcible eye-opening to get Nigel to see what he's needed to see all along but willfully ignored to preserve his own sense of indignant self-righteousness, something Luna herself sees as presently necessary but decidedly unpleasant. In that sense, I guess you are correct - aside from the adoption of Miralle, this is the only time we see Luna exerting her will over others in such a direct and clear manner.

By intervention, I was indeed referring to Luna taking direct action, to have a desired outcome that she wanted, or wished for. The other characters encounters with Luna that have been mentioned, have been discussed before, and talking about them all again would cause me to likely repeat some stuff I've said before, but to keep a long story short, those encounters weren't considered interventions, but more her offering guidance, but kept it at that.
Tristan's case is self explanatory, as it bares similarities with Nigel's, in that Luna was made aware of an issue that Tristan was presently going through, and gave him words of encourage/advice but left it at that, and left him to his own devices without actually taking direct action to help Tristan with his troubles, for example as others have mentioned, she could have offered Tristan the chance to come with her the village right then and there, and if Tristan refused fair enough, but he wasn't given that opportunity. In the end we saw how that ended, with Tristan returning back to abusive situation he was in before, as he didn't have enough self worth, nor was he mentally strong enough to break away from that situation.
Chilli's case also bares similarities with Nigel's, though in her case it actually worked out well for her. She made the decision to run away from her home, and she herself decided to stay Miralle when she offered her the chance to do that. Luna in this situation didn't directly enforce her will on anyone, like in Tristan's case she offered words of encouragement/advice and allowed Chilli to follow through with her decision, while also making sure it would be okay for her to do what she did. without enforcing her will on anyone. In this scenario Miralle was the driving force, intervening on her behalf . Chilli's decision just ended up working very well in her favour.
As for Nigel, well I don't really need to say anything, his situation and the end result after a long list of choices has been made abundantly clear at this point.

Maybe, maybe not. At this point it's really early in the story, so it's hard to really tell what kind of things will happen, or what some characters will do. That said, although Nigel doesn't quite have a good opinion of the Luna, being a Guardian is something he genuinely seems to want, well with the desire being heavily warped. Personally I don't think Nigel will be villain, for all I know he may become a villain, but personally I don't he will.
That said, from what we've seen, I believe Nigel is going to keep digging, and he's going to continue too dig deeper, and deeper, and deeper, until he reaches his lowest point, and only when he reaches that point, will he be able to take steps to better himself. He has many lessons to learn, but with the way he is now mentally, he's not quite in the position to take those lessons to heart and learn from them.

Viktria has made a point that whenever she makes fan art for her story, she's very careful that it doesn't include spoilers by accident. In the case of that image, it's a two way street, in that has spoilers without having spoilers. That image can mean many things, it can be interpreted in several ways.
Although we see them together, that doesn't necessarily mean that they will get along, or even be friends for that matter. I will admit that Nigel and Tristan do share a lot of similarities/parallels between each other, while having very clear differences as well, mainly their personalities. Personally I would like them to get along, cause there both incredibly lonely, and can relate to one another in some way, but whether they do end up being friends or just acquaintances in the story itself, remains to be seen.

A lot of these fan arts and interview question responses are non-canon and done "for fun," like the characters were actors playing their characters. Or an alternate universe where people act differently.
IE, mister skull-head acts way differently in the interview panels than he does in this mainline story.

I don't believe he was talking about the Q and A images that Viktria drew, but rather this one here of Nigel and Tristan:

This is not gonna go well isn't it? I mean... people take time to change their world view, you can't slap it to his face facts and expect things to go better instantly. People get angry, blame things that aren't even at fault, and get very defensive when they are either provoked or hurt. Even more if they have a trauma related to it.
If she is gonna break whatever wall he has around his mind to protect himself, he is gonna blame her even more.

The way she frames her speech, the way she has acted all throughout, it's so interesting for me. Luna is implied to be incredibly old, if we go by her title, she's the source of all life, or at least all sentient life. Characters like this are usually incredibly uninvolved with the going ons of the world, and when they do get involves it usually falls into a very deterministic sort of planing "everything is meant to happen for a reason." But not Luna. She has this sort of naive optimism that is so uncharacteristic of a character with her profile. She honestly believed that with her rather limited but well intentioned actions, everything would turn out for the better regarding Nigel.
She cares about him, and it's obvious that she has a vested interest on him and his supposed innate abilities that can be such a help to battle the chaos and help everyone in general. But yet she only did what could be considered the bare minimum, taking into account the importance she seems to place on Nigel. And now, because of that, she has to do something to course correct, something that I'm sure she wishes that she wouldn't have to do, something that, I'm sure, she wouldn't have to do if she had been far more assertive with Nigel.

Why do I get the feeling she would have made him a Knight anway?
Accoeding to her he is still only a tiny step away from becoming a Guardian. That said, is it necessary to be a Guardian to become a Knight?
As for what she is going to do to him? I think I saw a similar scene on Babylon 5 when Kosh opened G'kars eyes to a bigger picture. Far bigger than G'kar's hatred for the Centauri or that for Mollari.
I think Luna will show Nigel how she sees the world, or at least a part of it.

So she would promote Nigel to a knight anyway? So she turned him down as a kid for no reason? So she needs him to see the world from a perspective where he got not abandon by his parents because of her involvement?
If she talks about his big day in form of being granted the title of knight, that's just cruel now. She must be very desperate for any meatshields....

Huh I wonder what else she can do besides heal? If she’s going to send him on a “spiritual journey” to converse with ancient aliens in the desert he should be grateful he’s getting this treatment for free, usually I get charged top dollar for the highest quality peyote and shaman with G-cups 🤣
She never gaslit him. She has been nothing but perfectly honest with Nigel and everyone else that we've seen. You're assuming she knew how things would turn out with his parents and that it was her duty to intervene against Nigel's will. And she didn't leave him to be homeless - he chose that path. Nigel never asked nor wanted Luna to take him in (at least openly), and he willingly left his parents on his own.
Luna passingly acknowledges her mistakes here, ostensibly her lack of foresight, her naivete, but you're making a lot of one-sided assumptions with those accusations.
And yes, she is going to...forcibly-influence his perceptions, though she isn't doing it to make up for anything, but because she sees it as necessary and she doesn't seem too happy about it.

1) His parents were HER guardians, chosen by her personally, meaning she allowed stuck up elitists to be guardians. So if she didn't know how things would turn out by rejecting him, then she's a fool, which isn't a good defense.
2) She's the goddess of life, also indirectly the cause of his being homeless, so she could've at least offered.
And 3) That's fucked up regardless of how you look at it. If she has the power to foresee "great things" in his future, then that implies she ALSO foresaw his abandonment and decade of misery. Her brainwashing him right now does nothing to redeem her, it only damns her further.

Personally I think she is just going to throw him in jail with Triston. But I still think she will make him a knight.
And she should have stepped in long ago, in a kinder way. You can't ignore someone for years and then say the world needs their help. Someone should have given a helping hand to Nigel. And I personally hope he gets the happiest ending.

Nigel was made homeless. And now they want something else from him. In order not to wait for someone to become a guru, there are mentors to speed up the process of revealing abilities.
I am completely on Nigel's side. He has the right to send this pseudo-goddess on a foot erotic journey.

She's gonna blow his mind. I sense Nigel is going to shed some serious tears when he sees all the things he's done and truly understands them. It's going to horribly painful and Nigel may finally be open to his true potential.
Luna is sad for him because she loves him like a child and wishes he had found his path on his own rather than her having to pick him up and set him on the path to his destiny.

So from "Hands off" to "Ok now I just going to outright force you," 20+ time this she tries to be "Hands off force of nature" but then outright "Nah I'm just going to do something now." This makes zero sense for Luna as a character as she outright refused to do anything prior, yet continues to abuse this poor lad.
She's not a god, she's a fool with cosmic level powers, hell she's made Leo a guardian when all he has in his heart is spite for his father and it's the only reason he became a guardian which was because he was ashamed of his father. Then she won't make Nigel a guardian because "You only do it because your parents want you to and/or you lack heart."
No offense but how in the 9 levels of heck does this make sense? How is Leo going "I am going to be a guardian, not only that, I will be the strongest guardian in history because you were a failure father" meet the standards, and Nigel going "I am going to be a guardian because my parents before me were guardians, and their parents before them were guardians, thus I will do them and everyone proud by following in this noble endeavor!" does not?
Outright Malice and hatred and dedication to duty only out of anger and disgust = OK Guardian!
Outright blind love for their parents and duty and the joy it will bring to their life = No Guardian!
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/37271127/ <--- IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!
Current "Only way I can see this character having a redemption arc" I can see of Luna:
1. Admitting she is not hands off and she manipulates everyone because she's lost control, and this has made her scared and desperate and she's now willing to hurt others in order to save the world which is something she never thought she would do. She apologizes to all and begs for forgiveness.
2. She is "Not" as saintly as she seems, her visions are in no way accurate and she's either losing her control on "Life" or she's losing her powers/godhood period and this chaos is the result of this. She is not as smart/kind as she appears to be and all this unbalance/loss of her powers will result in said character lashing out with even more poor judgement.
3. Returns to being a force of nature and stops being an anthropomorphic personification (Thanks Diskworld!) of life and as she "Dies" she passes on the skills/knowledge/experience to those under her to continue watching the world grow and admitting her flaws to those around her.
Seriously I don't understand how Leon "Grrrr I hate you dad you were an incredible failure as a guardian I'll do what you couldn't" = Guardian and Nigel "I'll do the entire family proud by being a guardian!" = No Guardian. I seriously consider her the most evil person in this series so far for her "pretend" sainthood when she's anything but. She reminds me of prophet Cornello from Fullmetal Alchemist.
Hell I'm still amazed Nigel didn't turn to chaos himself and kick her ass for a lot of this.

I really don't think the choices she made were based on who they are currently, but rather who they would grow to be.
Think about it, all of the main characters are deeply flawed in their own ways. But she knows they are all destined for great things. It's reasonable to expect their upcoming journey will allow them to overcome those flaws.
You really need to stop taking things at face value and look at the bigger picture.

At least she apologized and acknowledged what she did, hurt if not wronged Nigel.
Now I really want to see what she'll do to help him or set him on the right path. Perhaps he will finally get help but let's see where this goes. I'm wanting to really like Luna again so this may be the turning point in her character arc.
