A tribal donkey encounters a group of wolves in an attempt to establish relations between the tribes. How will this play out?Wolf Ambassador"Stay close, guys. We don't want to give off any bad vibes." Traveling in a small pack, a group of tribal wolves are traveling along a narrow dirt pathway. They are on a trek to a new territory in hopes of establishing relations, and so with a couple warriors as backup, they set out for the journey.
One of the wolves, a muscular black furred male, is leading along with his similar colored counterpart; the two are brothers in control of different tribes. Though they have large territories, the two tribes are united.
Turning to his brother, he inquires, "Shadow, how far are the others you sent to meet us? We should be reaching the camp soon."
"Angel, Benny, and Roscoe are only half a mile ahead of us, so we shouldn't be that long." Shadow informed his brother. He casts a curious glance towards his brother in question, "Why do you ask, Taz?"
"Because," Taz responds in a light manner, "if we were to split into two groups, we'd lessen hostilities. If we were to come together as one big group, chances are we'd be mistaken for a warring tribe. We want things to go peacefully, not chaotic."
"So that's why you picked Tyson, Cameron, and Vershinin to tag along…" Shadow pokes fun at his brother's side, knowing the general personality of some of the other wolves he's met before.
Cue a chibi scene where Tyson glares daggers into the back of Shadow's head, his purple eyes holding a dangerous glint to them. He protests, "I'm not an airhead like the others and I don't flex my muscles just for show!"
"No, but Nate does!" While Shadow's crack emits small laughter from the group, Vershinin sweatdrops in embarrassment along with his ears drooping.
While the brown wolf sighs wistfully, Tyson pats his shoulder reassuringly and insists, "Hey, it's no big deal, Vershinin. Sure he may be a show off but when he's in his zone, he's downright serious. Who knows, maybe your brother is with the group we're meeting."
Vershinin shakes his head in denial. "Nah, not only is Nate absent but he wasn't selected to tag along with us. While he's not a bad wolf in terms of character, he can be a handful when it comes to females." He shrugs while admitting, "It's in our nature too. I'm guilty of it too but not like him."
Tyson smirks, "Hey, we all have our annoying habits. So you're not the only one."
Vershinin exhales a visible sigh in derision, but instead of focusing on his brother, Vershinin turns his attention back to the matter at hand. A forlorn, wistful smile grows on his muzzle and he soon chuckles softly, "Yeah, I know but back to the matter at hand. We should be close now."
~~~~~After reaching the second group, the Elkhart brothers separated into two groups, taking along their respective packmates. Taz, Tyson, Vershinin, and Cameron made one group, and Shadow, Angel, Benny, and Roscoe made a second group. Splitting up, the two groups went their separate ways.
"So, what's the point of us splitting up if we're supposed to be meeting in one big group?" It is Angel who asked this question.
"The point is so that we'll be less hostile and less suspicious instead of traveling in just one big group. Plus, we'll save more time in seeing whatever leaders this tribe has that we're traveling to." Benny responded this time.
The rest of the journey was careful and quiet until the two groups eventually arrived at the new territory. And one of the villagers appears to have taken a keen interest in the wolves, for he bounds right up to Taz and Shadow, shaking their hands enthusiastically. The villager, a donkey hybrid, introduces himself as Burro, and he is a young hunter of his tribe.
"My name is Burro! It's nice to meet all of you! So what are you all looking for??" The donkey hybrid inquired curiously.
"We're just looking to establish relations with your tribe. Any way we can see your chieftain?" Taz kneels down to hug Burro while answering his question.
"Yeah! I'll lead you to him!" Burro begins to leave, with the wolves following him.
One of the wolves, Roscoe, cracks a joking remark, "What are the odds of this chieftain being big and intimidating? He'll probably play with us and then throw us out."
Angel is more optimistic about the whole thing. He shakes his head at Roscoe's comment and implies, "I don't believe he's that paranoid. Most chieftains and leaders are welcoming of newcomers! Though, I wouldn't be surprised if we get chased out anyway. Give it a chance, Roscoe. It'll work."
Benny, on the other hand, observes, "It feels pretty weird to be in a new land just for a diplomatic expedition. Even so, you can't shake off the feeling of unease and uncertainty. Something may go wrong, y'know."
"Men, this will only take a short while. Relax!" Shadow assured them. "No need to get your tails twisted in a bunch!"
Mildly offended, Benny makes a whining noise in response. The rest of the trip goes quiet. That is, until they reach the chieftain's place. Burro informs them, "Wait here! I'll go get him!"
The eight wolves didn't have to wait for long; when Burro returned, a larger figure was right behind him, his dark appearance holding an intimidating gaze. When he sees the wolf pack, he speaks, "So all of you have come here asking for me? What is it that you want?"
Bravely, Shadow steps forward and proudly responds, "We are looking to establish foreign relations with your tribe. I am Shadow Elkhart, chieftain of the Alpine Valley wolf tribe. With me is my brother, Taz Elkhart." Shadow gives a passing glance to Taz for emphasis and to pick up introductions from where Shadow left off.
Taz resumes the introductions, "I am Taz Elkhart, chieftain of the Red Rock wolf tribe. I am also the brother of Shadow Elkhart, as you can see." Taz gives a smirk while casting a side-eye at Shadow, directing his attention back to the chieftain. Arching an eyebrow at the chieftain, Taz inquires, "And what is your name?"
The black chieftain responds, "My name is Sandivar Acosta and I am the leader of this tribe. I want to welcome you all to this land. Have you met Burro? He is very eager to assist you guys in your quest."
"We have. And he is a very energetic little guy." One of the warrior wolves spoke up; Tyson directs his purple eyes over to Burro and back while offering his explanation. Even Cameron agrees with the taller warrior when he breaks off to catch Burro in a tackle hug, beginning to excitedly rub against him.
Cameron nuzzles Burro while gazing between the chieftain and the wolves out of excited approval, even speaking up, "I like him too! We can have a playdate!"
Tyson only chuckles at Cameron's statement, reminding the younger wolf, "Cameron, you're not a pup anymore. You're an adult."
"So? We can still play together! What's wrong with that?" Cameron pouted. He removes himself from Burro, standing beside the donkey while his own tail is still wagging.
"You'll understand later on." Laughter soon breaks out among both sides following Tyson's remark. This will surely be an intriguing expedition for both sides, indeed…
