Now here's a really old picture. I did this back in the day when I said "I can't draw". I forgot to put it away one day when a friend of mine (some of whose art I have up posted up here somewhere) scoffed at me "And you say you can't draw!" Oddly, that actually gave me the idea that maybe I could. Too bad I haven't practiced enough to make good that possibility.

Still it's an interesting thought, perhaps a little inspiring to those who still say "I can't draw". Everyone has to start somewhere. And despite that cliche, I actually believe it.

Onto the picture itself. I've ALWAYS loved the idea of magic or the concept of the metaphysical. I always liked to believe that there is a raw sort of magic all around that we just haven't learned/forgotten how to tap. (Yeah, yeah, I'm a freak.) Also interestingly, this is the first picture I did with any reference to macro. That fountain's supposed to be about 10 feet tall. Looking back I seem to have had a better grasp on shadows and clothes back then.
