A young she-wolf dreams of making herself a royal knight in her father's pack and family while living amongst the others in her daily life.

Wolf Knight

Giggling to herself, Val trots along a narrow path while on her way back to her den. She has just finished another playdate session with her friends and is now making her way back to her family. Along the way, she comes across one of her family members who was stationed outside their den.

"Aki, what are you stationed out here for? Is Daddy keeping you up again?" Val questioned the male wolf on his reason for being stationed outside their den.

Aki responds eagerly, "I'm on the lookout for suspicious activity. Dad said that many suspicious people wander throughout our territory, so he assigned me and Yuka to guard the den!"

"Oh, I see. And let me guess - Yuka got bored and she left, right?" Val assumed from Aki's explanation.

Aki shakes his head, guessing instead, "It's not that; I think Yuka left to gather some more supplies for the pack - you know, herbs for healing and stuff."

"For the healers, correct? Let me join you in this knighthood!" Val's tail begins wagging excessively in eager play when she jumps on her brother in a playful wrestle.

"Hey!! No fair!! I wasn't ready yet!!" Aki squeaks in protest upon trying to fight off his sister after being pinned to the forest floor. While squabbling, the male wolf kicks his sister off of him, only to be tackled by Val again where she squeals, "Never!!!"

During the playful squabbling, Val and Aki chase and tackle each other, rolling away from the den and separating. And after they jump back up, they continue their play fighting, circling and lunging at each other. This keeps up until a sudden howl pierces the air, leading the two pups to pause.

Hearing the rushing around them, Aki alerts Val, "Looks like Dad's either summoning a meeting or someone must be in trouble! Stay here, Val!"

Val refuses, "No, Aki! I'm going with you! We should guard the den!"

"But Mom said–" Aki is cut off with Val hissing, "No! I want to do this rather than stay cooped up at home! And it'll be a big help to have greater diversity and more backup! Come on!" When Val breaks off for the den, Aki chases her in protest, "Val, wait!!!"

Val is already en route to the source of the call where she passes their den, Aki right on her tail. During the rapid response, the pair are intercepted by Yuka, who demands, "And where are you two going? And before you respond, yes I heard the noise; no, it is not for us but for the adult wolves to answer."

"But what if Daddy's in trouble? Then what?" Val argued in return.

Yuka smirks, "Dad's busy on an errand run, so he's not the one in trouble. It's only someone else in the pack making the call. Don't worry little sister, you'll get your chance one day."

This crushes Val's mood but an endearing smile and nuzzle from her big brother encourages her to peek back up again. Taking charge of his siblings, Yuka offers, "Tell you two what, you two help me finish gathering these supplies and then we head back to our den to talk more, okay?"

"Okay!!!" Val's response is a little too resounding and before her brothers can react…

*PEW!*

…Val zooms off in search of the remaining supplies to add to their surplus. This leaves Yuka and Aki shaking their heads with the former grumbling, "How is Dad able to keep up with a hyperactive daughter for a wolf pup??"

The two brothers trek off to locate their sister with Aki giggling, "Beats me! You should ask him sometime; his answer may surprise you!"
