it only turned brown several panels after it was inflicted so i had assumed that was a scab of some kind. perhaps something done with magic to protect the wound. when it was first inflicted it was pink and red and had that 'melted cheese' texture to how it was drawn, that you see with a lot of how fiction depicts 2nd degree burns.
as for the pain thing, adrenaline? also possible lamb has a really high pain tolerance because of her history.

1st degree burn is a sunburn.
2nd degree burns feature cooked skin layers that quickly separate and blister up, and are some of the most painful injuries because the nerves are still intact. You get this from touching something scalding.
3rd degree burns feature destroyed dermis and charred tissue: burned down into the meat. With no skin left, they can't blister, and the pain is concentrated around the edges where the nerves are still intact. The burn itself may be numb. This is common with direct flame burns.
Lamb was exposed to a direct flame. The burn looks darkened, possibly charred. Maybe that's her natural skin color under the fur, but there's no sign of blistering, and she doesn't seem bothered by the pain.
Either it's a minor 1st-degree burn that only singed the fur away, or it's a 3rd-degree scorch. The latter seems more likely, considering what she got clipped with, and the offer of a bandage.

it takes time to transfer heat, so i doubt it is third degree.
And second degree burns do also hurt, allot, but i think it is more blister thing skin, instead of third charred skin.
I think it is probably mainly her skin collor tho, dunno if stripes and such are the same on the skin layer.
But that is my guess.
And yeah i know, i am late to the comment section.

Probably the reason she was worried if they sold them. She probably took a while to get enough money to pay for them before they got captured, and for the slavers such a expensive pair of convergence collars would be only some extra coin they could get selling it. But thankfully Lamb dealt with that horrible bunch before they could do so.
Some cuts, puncture wounds, bruises and what looked like a second degree burn.
Her right shoulder and arm, the one that got the puncture wounds and burn, was still usable. Heck, she even threatened to stab the penguin with a hadalen knife in her right hand.
So I'm thinking ... not very.

She'd be screaming in agony for a 2nd degree burn, and it would be bright-red & blistering at this point.
This looks charred, isn't blistering, and the pain is tolerable. That's a 3rd degree burn. Every layer of skin is gone, and nerve endings have been destroyed. It's basically exposed slightly-cooked bare muscle. Infection will be difficult to avoid.

It appears to me she has a really high pain tolerance, given how much she moved her arm after the encounter ended, regardless of the degree of the burn.
As far as infection is concerned, eh, we're in a magical environment, where someone's wife has the ability to make things grow and heal by thinking at it hard.
