2 months ago I travelled from Melbourne to Sydney on the XPT (Express Passenger Train), which first entered service in New South Wales on this day in 1982.
In fact, on the XPT I went on in February, the front power car was XP2001. This was the second XPT power car ever built, and along with XP2000, ran the first XPT service from Sydney to Dubbo on 8th April 1982.
To mark this occasion, and the fact that this is my 200th post on multiple platforms, my mascot Lil' Thick got to ride in the front cab of the XPT, and it's enjoying it a lot!
