Oddly enough, this does kinda help explain why he is in this enclave. He wants his daughter to be able to defend herself. Thats posably partly why he liked Kass so much right from the getgo. Kass did not do the normal female yinglet thing, she interacted with him 'man to man' as it where, and that got her respect from him. He wants Zelly to be able to protect herself if she needs to, also, considering her proclivitys, being fit and strong probably helps her out a lot.
Also interesting to see they are doing a very bouncy combat style, I rather like it, fits with the yinglet form better than trying to mimic human combat systems. With thoes legs, and with practice, I bet they got a good amount of mobility wich is mostly untaped, as it would take someone to think about alternatives to just walking. By bouncy, if you notice in the last two panels they are both disconected from the ground, taking advantage of there ability to spring, and move quickly.

You can have... SO MUCH FUN just shifting the panels around. Just confuse the piss out of someone. More s that final one. I saw that being worked on and didn't ask cause I thought it was funnier.
That bottom left shot is particularly good by the way. It look like it would actually hurt to get tag by that.

Oh interesting. Teaching her how to fight I presume. May I ask if Yinglets have eyes like a predator with intense muscle control over their eye lids?
Generally in martial arts, it's better to keep your eyes somewhat lidded rather than wide open. But this isbcomparing the human anatomy to a fantasy creature.

It could be related to Kass going wide-eyed and large-pupiled right before striking in OOPs #161, which seemed to be an instinctual adrenaline thing. His eyelids were already fully open, but his eyebrows went from glaring to up. Both Kattajak and Zally seemed to have the same moment of "Time to start hitting" that engaged fight mode.
My guess is a form of sparring/training, but I could be completely wrong. ^_^;;

Looking more at it, looks like Zally connected with a kick to Kattajak's face in that last panel! She might be winning this after all. Makes me wonder if Zally would've been Patriarch of Hunting if she'd been born male.
I'd been assuming Kattajak and Zally were father/daughter, but seeing them together, I'm starting to think brother/sister. Then again, it's hard to tell age on a yinglet. They could be son/mother for all I know.

Hey there, OOPs fans! I'm here to remind you once again that there's a place called "Top Web Comics" https://www.topwebcomics.com/?home=3 that compiles comics from various places. There's a bunch of cool stuff there. They have monthly votes, so you can support OOPs there. You can vote once a day per device, so your PC, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.
I've noticed that you can sometimes even get in extra votes from different IP addresses, or if you're disconnected from your IP and open up again later.
OOPs closed out last month at 36th place and about 1060 votes, the highest ranking it's reached yet. It's currently at 627 votes and 52nd place. The top vote getters seem to end up with something close to 20,000 votes.
Vote early, vote often! Help OOPs get noticed!

going by the last panel, looking like he has the temporary and slight advantage, one hand already in a control position, and pushing to gain a second by pushing her into his leg, downside being that mirrored rotations that follow will force him to plant his other hand on the ground. not sure if this will lead to a leg triangle. On her side that tail is in position to spin her in any number of directions before she lands. That kick she made, not a good idea, back... footed so that the claws dont come into play, and doubt her legs are any sturdier to sheering force than her arms
I don't think that's a "control position" on Kattajak's hand in the last panel. He's not gripping anything, and with his left arm going across his body like that and his body arching back like this, it looks more like he's reacting to a kick in the face. The kick being backhanded in the second to last panel might be a sign that this isn't a serious fight and that they're not actually trying to hurt each other.
That being said, actually reading yinglet body positions and anticipating where the wiggly little guys are gonna go is incredibly hard. ^_^;;

Ha, I thought they both noticed the moth and went into cat-mode trying to catch it at first! On another read through I love how you drew them throwing kicks and twisting through the air, you’ve definitely conveyed the feeling of ‘a flurry of action that the camera or human eye couldn’t quite capture fully’
Actually there are more...a prologue and many fanfics that are almost as good as this one. shard_of_confusion has more strips in his two fanfics than Val does in his real one, and umbrascythe has a pretty good fanfic too. Val helps with the fanfics. And you can read the main strip on Valsalia's homepage, FurAffinity, and DeviantArt...reading the comments on each.
