A quick 30 minute sketch in GIMP.
I can see why people do this technique of drawing on a gray canvas. It's easier to start with a default gray and add whites and blacks, than to start with white and add different black tones everywhere consistently.
Will probably scrap this later. It's not really a study since I didn't reference any human photos, and I only used one raccoon photo.
