The latest commission for me by
.
Here's a magnificent digital illustration of myself sitting in the Captain's Chair aboard the bridge of the Enterprise. I am truly elated with how lovely this turned out and thank the ever patient and understanding abluedeer for everything and tolerating the edits I requested to make this picture perfect for me. Of all the Star Trek:TOS pics I've commissioned, this one is my most favorite among them to date. My sincerest gratitude goes out to abluedeer for doing such a wonderful job and be a saint to work with.
Here we have Lt. Asphyxia Lemieux sitting in the Captain's chair in thoughtful repose. It's the early hours in the morning and the Captain has put Lt. Lemieux in command while he and the other officers retreat to their quarters for a good night's rest. As the Communications Officer of the ship, her time spent on the bridge often has her dreaming of one day commanding her own vessel among the stars. Her aspirations will be rewarded once she passes her Star Fleet courses and one day sit in a chair similar to this one and command a ship of her very own. Until then, she will cherish each and every opportunity she has when put on active command duty by the Captain.

Well, technically, it's an overly zealous and sugar induced hugging rampage sort of icon! XD
Even Kirk daydreamed about the stars in his youth. At least I do have the opportunity to command the ship during the wee hours of the morning. This is much closer than my previous experience aboard the U.S.S. Moreau.

Thank you so very much for the appreciation and compliment!
I find it amusing that you were watching Star Trek at the time when you started to peruse FA. I've always had a love for The Original Series and their classic uniforms. I grew up watching them as a child and watched the crew transition to the theatrical movie releases. I continued to watch the syndication and the new series of The Next Generation, DS-9 and Voyager. My affection for ST is long and deep. That doesn't mean that I'm a total geek though! Just someone who has a long-standing appreciation since I was capable of cognitive thought.
As for having a problem with teh com systems...Oh my gosh! I'll have to look into that immediately! I was certain that the transmission was sent over the correct channels and wasn't scrambled or garbled due to a technical malfunction!

*grins broadly* I grew up on TOS and the earlier TOS movies, and have a lil bit of an addiction to DS9. Often have an ep of one of the various series playing in a small window while I plod around the web, just for something to listen to. Geek or not, you have fun tastes when it comes to themes for artwork you get, and it really shows in pics like this one. Definitely would wanna be on the night shift on the Enterprise if she's who I'd be taking orders from!
Thank you! I'm quite impressed with it myself and thank abluedeer very, very much! =)
Actually, no. This is the Enterprise. I haven't been on the USS Moreau in years to be honest. Also, my designated duties there was to be the ship's counselor, but somehow I had to fill in at the communications console when I was stationed on that vessel. I decided that a career change was in order as the need for a communications officer was in greater need than counseling. That brought me full circle to where I am now. (Also, this isn't really canon from the USS Moreau timeline as that actually takes place later than what this particular image depicts).
Are you familiar with Star Trek? It's a common misconception that ALL red shirts are expendable and die first. However, only the ensigns and lower ranked red shirts that accompanied "away teams" that were quickly felled. Mind you, these were mostly security personnel. Officers definitely did not perish simply because they wore a red shirt. If you notice, Uhura and Scotty tended to be a part of the away teams and always managed to return safely to the ship.
Thank you for enjoying the image too! ^_^

I admit and hold no shame in saying that I love Star Trek. I'm not raging geek as some but do love each series I've spent time to watch. I've yet to see more than snippets of episodes from Enterprise, but will watch it eventually. My childhood was filled with Star Trek: TOS and I fell in love with the original cast and crew of the Enterprise. I did spend some time watching many of the first few seasons to DS9 and Voyager and have seen many episodes of TNG. I saw most of the films in the theaters, (I missed Undiscovered Country) and used to have action figures from The Motion Picture and an old Mego Kirk doll that has long since been gone. *sniff* ='( However, I do own a lot of Playmates action figures and 9" dolls. I've since stop collecting them though. Oops, I went on a nerd binge!
Sorry to digress, but yes! I <3 Star Trek! I would love to get even more art that is Trek themed. It's just too hard to say no!
I see that you're also a Trek fan and it's always nice to see more! I love your ID that you have too!
