At Arm's Length: Kaige and Kiley Heroes for Hire by Nicole R
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
My good friend darkwingdork has a comic called At Arm's Length that Kaige and Kiley sometimes pop up in to help out the comic's heroines.
In the AAL universe, Kaige and Kiley belong to a guild of peace keeper dragons who help those who are helpless, defend those who are defenseless, and fight for what is right all for a very reasonable fee. They even starred in their very own arc called Have Sword, Will Travel.
They first showed up in the arc Tunnel Rumble. Please forgive the bad designs for them. The artist at the time couldn't draw dragons worth spit.
The comic is very entertaining and the main characters are not your typical furry heroines. They belong to a race of Enchanters who have four arms and are magical in nature. They come from a parallel world that broke off from Earth due to a magical circumstance far in the past. The characters are interesting. The comic is full of humor and drama and action. Give it a read. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Well, I've seen this pic before in your gallery but the info in the description is new to me. After seeing this, I decided to read Have Sword, Will Travel following the link you provided. Kaige and Kiley looked really cute in the comic(almost chibi in my opinion). Short comic arc but still rather amusing. What really got me is the last page of the arc in which a .44 Magnum is just mentioned, despite the fact that their weapons were medieval in nature, I was like
Well, I haven't read the rest of the arc yet but I'll try to find some time(college classes are interrupting). Still, I guess At Arm's Length is lighthearted in nature(unlike the "Jack" webcomic but I really liked reading "Jack", been reading all of its existing arcs for more than 6 months and is waiting for the current arc to be updated) but still AAL is worth taking a look.
What a cute pair of heroes those two are, reasonably affordable to be hired and I trust rather efficient but then again any price is reasonable if you need these two to save your life(life's priceless by the way).
Well, enough said but I'd like to say that even a Magnum caliber weapon(or any weapon for that matter) won't be effective if the caliber of one's skill is inadequate(forgive attempted pun). Cheers!

The tech in the AAL comic universe is a little schizophrenic . It really depends on the person and whether they have magic abilities or are really strong and also what planet they are from. All the magical worlds and the Earth in that universe are connected by portals.
The magnum is a reference to a one of the first arcs. This Page. Sheila, the kangaroo, had at one time faced down a minotaur with a magnum. The guy in the Have Sword Will Travel arc is his cousin. The beings from the magical worlds like to get Earth's tech whether it's an ipod or a weapon. The tend to be a bit lazy since they have magic for all their needs. The planet the main characters are from are still wearing Roman Empire toga like garb for instance.

Hello! "At Arm's Length" creator DWD here. The comic is set in modern day, with several different planets existing with various levels of development. Because of this, most creatures have access to weapons from pretty much any world. This particular minotaur likes medieval melee weapons, but he has a cousin who prefers more modern weapons.
Please continue to enjoy the comic! Kaige and Kiley will appear again. :)
