In this episode of "Technology and Turn ons", Leo demonstrates the newest in foot technology!
Yea, it's silly, but I had to show off officially the new foot model somehow >w>
So yea, This new foot model and texture is basically my dream-come-true of quality, at least the texture is. The model itself was somewhat straight-forward, it's completely new, made from scratch, with a LOT better topology than the previous one. Following a few new drawing references I decided to try adding the lil "center ball of the foot" thing under the middle toes, and I think it paid off~ The biggest improvement here really is the toes, specially the big toe, it's SO MUCH BETTER. That's why I had that side-shot on the animation, just to show it off >w>
Now, for the texture... For a while I've had the idea of how to create a perfect footprint/digitals texture, something not bound by a frankensteined together 2K normal map like I've been using to this point... I wanted something with infinite potential... infinite quality. So, through a process EXTREMELY convoluted and painful I managed to convert that normal map into a lineart of the footprint pattern, to then convert it into vector lines, to then apply a very specific brush to those lines. Every single step in that process, every sub-step even, was like a brick wall covered in slime to get through, one of the most infuriating and frustrating things I've done. But thanks to my obnoxious perseverance and basically a few miracles... I did it. A foot texture I can export at any insanely high resolution I want (or that my pc will alow before imploding). Then I just had to get that new texture in Blender, spend some 10 hours tweaking every tiny detail as well as I possibly could and... here you go.
Before starting that process I thought to myself "Why has no one tried doing this before?". Now that I did it, I know why. Holy fucking shit.
...worth it.
Now I'm in the process of slowly adding these to everyone, as you may have seen, Surge ended up getting it first, but I already got them on a few models, but it'll take some time till everyone has it. Oh, and I've also improved the eyes a lil bit, props if you've noticed >w>
And for the animation, it was just a silly idea, originally I wanted to voice-act it, got as far as lip-sync it and everything, but ended up scrapping it... I don't think my voice really fits a mobian character, and there wasn't much time for me to mess around with AI voices, so... I just scrapped that and left him silent... BUT it still fit one of my goals, actually try to work with sound effects and stuff! Blender handles it better than I expected. Sad to think that Blender kinda is the best free video editor, while being a 3D modeling software lol And thanks to the new GPU, I was able to render this in 1080p too~ or... 1400x1920... Sorry for yall that will end up watching this on really thin phones, ops~
But yea, Happy Paw Day everyone, I hope you enjoyed this silly thing~
Oh and there's a soundless, foot only version of the animation, it's the "VIDEO FILES" link and the e621 link at the top

Man the amount of detail is insane, you did a fantastic job as the feet look a lot more realstic and fluid, not to mention hot, would have been nice to hear your voice, even if it doesn't fit could have shown a lot of progression in action as you went from small comics, to crafting your own work and getting into voice acting, but just my opinion.
Still it is a great work and hope to see more animations from you soon :3

HoOHOHGOODdDddd
The angle in the thumbnail in particular is... to DIE for. The detail on that foot is STUNNING
And the slow, intimate pan around and zoom around that sole... pushing all of my buttons in a very rich, POWERFUL way~ <//////////////////////////////>
Amazing stuff

THIS. IS. GOD LIKE!
Too bad you didn’t do the voice acting for this one. Maybe you could try hiring a VA in future? 🤔 (I’m a professional VA myself) or maybe dabbling with ElevenLabs AI modules instead.
But other than that, this is awesome!
it’s great to see your animation improving!
