I have tried smaller diapers once IRL and they didn't fit either. I've heard some stories about people trying out diapers smaller than their size, and depending on who you ask, they'll either like to tell you, or they're ashamed of the fact that, not that they've tried out a diaper in the first place, but that the diaper didn't fit.
