A few years ago, I had a powerful urge to reboot my very old, abandoned fanfic, "Guilty by Design", about a Hitmonchan with an abusive trainer. I never did it, of course, but made a bunch of concept art for the planned characters.

Hitmontop: new version of Aya, who before was a cringe fakemon female Hitmon. This new version of Aya will still be cis female; this story would disregard the gender limitations on hitmons/other Pokemon, because that shit is non-sensical.

Machoke: Axiom, a partial shiny who works for humans as a lab assistant. He is an insider who aids a group of wild/feral Fighting types who hold anti-human beliefs.

Makuhita and Hariyama: I had the bold idea of making these Pokemon resemble rabbits. Hey, why not? This character is named Twig. Late in the story, after Champ is abandoned by his trainer for losing DA BIG TOURNEY, he is taken in by a group of anti-human Fighting type Pokemon. Twig is someone Champ ends up recruiting some years down the line, and the two bond and form something of a big/little brother relationship.
