MKDS-style Kart for Gabo
Hi Gabo, buddy! Here it is! It took a bit more time than I expected, but that was because I mainly had to draw some straight lines correctly, which was espesially hard considering the kart was not drawn at a head-on angle.
🏳️🌈 This is the Koopa Kruiser, the signature kart I created for Gabo. I asked him what the design of the vehicle should look like, and he suggested giving it the color pattern of the hairdo his character sports in most of his artwork -- a repeated effect of bright pink, deep blue, and a bright yellow, which contrasts beautifully with each other when put next to each other. I also gave the kart a spoiler akin to some real-life racing cars, and the color scheme of deep green and brighter orange is a reference to the color pallette he uses when illustrating the head of his character. This is because the official character he based it on -- Lemmy Koopa from Super Mario Bros. 3 -- also sports this unique coloration. With this kart being primarily speed-focused, its speed stat is to no one's surprise the highest, followed by items, and decent handling. Two things I've never understood about the stats for the karts in Mario Kart DS, are (1): the presence of both acceleration AND handling, which should've been just a single stat indicator; and (2): items. I have no dang clue what the devs meant by that when they implemented this visual, and it is likely the reason why we've never seen it in any Mario Kart installment since. It's just... puzzling.
