I got this commission to show that Darjeets are "ram ventilation breathers". Also because I have few arts showing Darjeets in their simi-aquatic habitats and decided it was time to fix that.

They have gill cheeks, which require them to move forwards to move water through their mouths and gills while underwater. Although their gills aren't 100% efficient, this allows a Darjeet to stay underwater for hours before resurfacing.

The Gryphon artist who I knew from the SFW Dragon chat on Telegram, had made this a little bit derpy too.
