this is just a new series of very simple comic strips about silly gaming attitudes and stuff like that ^^ it's supposed to make you laugh but at the same time think about certain attitudes, so yeah, think about it but don't take it too seriously :3 I hope to find a better style for it soon though ^^;

Not really; I see him as the guy that points out the things that're wrong with major titles when no one else will. He's essentially the AVGN if he reviewed modern games. I've played quite a few of the games he's reviewed too, and I see his points.
Not the Wii ones though, sadly; don't have one. I'm not a big fan of Nintendo consoles in this new generation, so I doubt I'll get one, but each to their own.

well, honestly I find him, picky, arrogant and willing to just follow his own bias instead of trying to see what's good and what's bad in a game without letting himself get driven off by his own preferences, wich are kinda sucky.
I don't like gamers like him who are willing to mock and belittle games that easily, honestly. and I'm not saying this as nintendo fan, but as overall gamer fan.

I've been a gamer since I was a kid; learned to read so I could play Age of Empires. And as a gamer fan born and raised, I have to say that I find him amusing, at least. He has very high standards, but most of his points are valid. Even with games I love that he rips apart, I find him funny in the "it's funny because it's true" sense.
The flaws he points out aren't as bad as he says they are, usually, but remember, he's being paid to exaggerate things to comedic effect. It's his job. He may be arrogant, but he's being brutally honest; in an industry where many big game reviewing publications are crooked and unreliable, I have to respect that. And remember, there are games he adores, like Silent Hill 2, Limbo, Prince of Persia, and Saints Row 2.
I honestly think of him as a comedian first and a game reviewer second, but as I said, to each their own. I may agree with him, you may hate him, but what does that matter, really? You're still a shy, kind 'chu and I'm still a smart-mouthed, unpredictable glaceon.

Well, that I can see, but I honestly don't ever see many people like that. Most of my friends are gamers, and they spend a lot more time liking games than bashing them. If anything, I'm the one who spends the most time bashing certain games, and that's just because I'm the kind of person who's much better at being a critic than a fan. And trust me, I'm a fan of a lot of games and can go into fanboy rants for a long time. XP
I just don't find any fun in it...really, it makes me sad seeing so many games getting bashed for the silliest reason, including graphics...and nintendo wii games especually always fall into this...for a wii game it looks like expectations are doubled and simple small flaws that are ignored on HD games (fallout and oblivion, being full of flaws on animations, expressions and being full of bugs) on wii games are bashed to no end. this is what the comic is trying to point out...the wii has been spat on for 4 years, then microsoft and sony do their own motion controls are all the haters start drooling on those. it's like it became cool to hate nintendo stuff nowadays, really.
Well, the "Bit Wars" taught us that graphics aren't everything, and there are quite a few bugs in very ambitious games. I even almost ahd a mental breakdown because a fatal bug in New Vegas made it so my 40 hours of play time were wasted. ^^;
As I said, I'm not a fan of Nintendo; they've always been about changing the WAY we play games instead of actually making the games themselves anything new, hence why they remake the same four or five games over and over with slight tweaks here and there. Take that how you will, but as I said, it's my opinion and I don't say it's necesarily right.
I think the main reason they're being bashed recently is because Kinect took Nintendo's main selling point besides nostalgia - new ways to play games - and beat them at it. Now that the Wii has lost the advantage of the novelty of motion controls and never really had the advantage of a large library of high-end titles, the incentive for anyone to buy it over the Xbox or PS3 has dropped severely.
I don't know what any of the experts or gamers in general have to say on it, but the last two console wars ended with the SNES winning, then the PS2. Unless some extreme innovation happens, I think the Xbox 360's combination of motion control gaming, a large library of games and 3rd party support, smooth internet multiplayer, and a lower price than a typical PS3 means that it's going to win this generation's console war. Then again, I could easily be wrong.

well, actually, this gen is already won by nintendo on both handeld and console...the wii managed to sell more than kinect this christmas despite it being higher tech. hironically the kinect is also more limited than a wii...you can't really go beyond an on-rail experience without any kind of controller.
everyone think that nintendo is all about mario and zelda and here it's where everyone are wrong. maybe I should really take a pic of all the wii games I own (75) and show that the wii has a worthy library...the fact is that most gamers nowadays are graphic whores and if it isn't mario and zelda or an HD ip it isn't worth buying for them...Nintendo is constantly bashed simply because it's nintendo. no matter what it'll do, there are many gamers willing to hate it no matter what they do.
the fact that you also say that they don't innovate their games says a lot about how little you know about them, I'm sorry to say. the shift between the metroid prime series and other m, kirby's epic yarn, wich haves a totally different gameplay from the rest of the series, the creative use of gravity in SMG and SMG 2, the implementation of motion controls in zelda: skyward sword...
this without counting the games that still base themselves on old rules, but tweak them perfectly...Punch-out, Excitebots, super smash bros brawl, super mario bros wii, donkey kong country returns...
or the new IPs. people say nintendo never makes new IPs, wich is also untrue. Two are already out in japan and will hopefully be out soon, wich are Xenoblade, an RPG made by the makers of Xenogears, Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos, wich also features a world of wich the size and variety would honestly kick bethesda games in the ass. so much for wii not being able to handle huge worlds, uh ? The other one is The Last Story, action/RPG developed by the original author of Final Fantasy and by the malers of Blue Dragon and Lost Odissey. And more recently Pandora's tower, wich still doesn't have a genre, but is a new nintendo IP that will come out this year in japan.
there's also third party support too...maybe the wii didn't get a metal gear, a gears of war or a mainstream final fantasy, but it got a lot of unique games, wich can't be found on other platforms. Muramasa, Madworld, the No More Heroes series, Monster Hunter 3, Tatsunoko VS Capcom, Red Steel 2, Sonic Colours, Epic Mickey, Goldeneye, the upcoming Dragon Quest X...just to name a few.
I don't have any problem with you not liking nintendo, but it isn't in any way inferior to the HD consoles, if just on graphical output. It haves a wide range of different games, that go from bright colourful ones to dark, violent ones for every taste. It's just a matter of knowing about them, that's all. You can have your own opinion, but the wii does have a large library of high-end title, of course pushing out the horrible shovelware...but the PS2 had a lot of shovelware too :P

it does make ma laugh.^^ i like the crazed expression in the last panel.
it's also a situation i find very annoying and it seems to mostly happen with gamers who are idiot fan boys to a particular system without actually thinking about why they like it over other systems and their games.

Its funny but true of some of these "hard core" gamers, especially those biased to a certain console. As the point of your comic here, basically bias can make them trash talk something on one console but if it comes to their console of choice, then they start loving it.
I had Kenect, and took it back afew days later. Why? For one, it says you should have 6ft. I would say AT LEAST 6ft, you need ALLOT of space to play it. For two, I found it kind of inaccurate for some of my movements I was making. Three, some games (like the Sonic Free Riders demo) were VERY hard to play. Four: Yes, the lack of buttons DOES become an issue. I can just pick up the 360 controller but it defeats the purpose of even having the Kenect menus there on the dashboard. Using your hand to navigate things is abit akward to me.
But the biggest reason: Lack of ANY decent games, now or coming. Only one of interest to me is Forza 4 and it will be more of a addon than a way to play the game. Most of the Kenect games seem like shovelware unfortunately. Sadly though, the Wii does suffer though a TON of shovelware itself but its got allot of great games too. But you don't have to pay $150 for an extra component for that shovelware...
Also, I think there's a big difference between the Wii and Kenect is that with the Wii, the motion control is a feature comes with the console while you have to buy it as an add-on with Kenect and Playstation Move (as I like to call it, "Wii HD" as the idea is extremely similar and it plays almost identical to the Wii). If gaming past has taught us anything (*Cough*Sega CD and 32X*Cough*) that needing addons to play a game doesn't fair very well with allot of people. Yes, they do have bundles with the two for the 360 and PS3 but it drives up the cost of the console quite more than most people would like to pay.
Also, Kenect has the issue that its the "odd one out", basically its not like the other two. Playstation Move, as I said, is very similar to the Wii's controls so Wii ports for it are quite easy and some are already happening (such as No More Heroes, at least in Japan). Where as with Kenect, they would have to completely redesign the game to port it to it and most developers won't want to go though that huge challenge.

I like the points you made. I don't own a 360, but I don't need to in order to see the major flaw in the Kenect's design: No controller for feedback.
I do however own both a Wii and a PS3 in addition to the Eye and Motion Controller for it, and I must say both are very good platforms. In comparison, I do feel the Move is a little more accurate than the Wii Remote as it seems to pick up a wider range of motions than the Wii Remote, although I'm not able to compare it to Wii Motion Plus as I do not own one. Positional tracking however seems more spot on for the Move, thanks to the different method it uses to record positional data, as I don't need to point the Motion Controller directly at the TV for it to capture my position unlike the Wii Remote that loses my position if I stray too far from the screen. In fact, I can hold the Motion Controller almost completely away from the TV it'll still pick up my position.
I also think it would be easier to port a number of Wii titles to the PS3 using the Move system and I'd like to see a few of them ported. Epic Mickey is one. I love the game, but when I heard that it was originally planned as a PS3 and 360 title, I found myself wondering how the game would look in HD. The main reason Epic Mickey was turned into a Wii exclusive was because the developers saw how the difference in the Wii's controllers would mean the gameplay would have to be much different on the Wii, so instead they switched development to Wii exclusivity. With the Move however, I see no excuse anymore to port the game to the PS3 and have it play exactly like the Wii version but with far improved graphics. (As much as I love Nintendo, I've always questioned the reason they've been a generation behind in technology since the N64. I guess I'm just one of those "picky gamers" who must point the flaws in everything.)

Yea, personally it would of been great if they had a combo of a "wiimote" style controller AND the motion capture of Kenect. Because it relying on the motion capture alone does create some issues ^^;.
Also, I have all three platforms, but I don't have Playstation Move. But I would imagine PlayStation Move works pretty well. Also, I figured it would be abit more accurate since its newer and they use the camera to determinate where its pointing instead of a IR sensor that the Wii uses which I have easily noticed, doesn't work that great at a distance (the cursor jumps around like crazy or doesn't show up at all). Also, the Wii Motion Plus does work very well (the Playstation Move pretty much has all the technology the Wiimote with Motion Plus has).
Yea, I would love to see some upgraded HD ports of some popular Wii games. I expect to see it happening more since it will really help its popularity in Japan were the Wii is definitely king. I have yet to play Epic Mickey but I would like to see that ported myself, as well as maybe the Okami series (which is a high possibly since the original WAS on PS2), and whatnot. But yea, I noticed allot of games are Wii exclusive because of the controls and hopefully Move can make these third party games come out on the PS3 as well.
Also, I think Nintendo is great as well, especially since they have some of THE best first party titles bar none. But the reason they are a generation behind on the Wii was cost. At the time of development of the Wii, the DS was new and wasn't "printing them money" yet, and the GameCube sadly didn't do well (the PS2 outsold it 7-8 to 1, and the Xbox 3-4 to 1). So they needed to develop their next console cost effectively and in a way that will get them back up financially and the Wii pretty much did the trick as they just took the GameCube's hardware and bumped up the processing speeds (CPU and GPU) and more onboard RAM, and added what was needed for the Wii motion controls (and wireless internet, which even at the time is rather inexpensive to add) which saved them the massive cost of having to develop totally new hardware. Now the Wii is very popular and the DS is uber popular. I would expect Nintendos next generation platform to be just as good as the next generation Xbox or Playstation console.

Speaking of the next generation, I kinda doubt that we'll see the next full generation of consoles so soon this time around. At least for Sony and Microsoft since this generation was the most expensive yet and they are still recovering form the damages (i.e., PS3's starting price and the 360's high failure rate.) I'd expect Nintendo to make their next console sooner because they lost the least in this generation while the PS3 and 360 will last a few more years yet because they're already so powerful.
Yea, it might be as late as 2014 until we see a new generation since why would Sony and Microsoft introduce these motion controls so late in their life? But I hope new consoles WILL come out soon. I mean, the GPU power has definitely evolved if you look at PC video cards (I mean, nVidias newest card is 12 times more powerful than the 360s GPU, and that's just the shader count) and these consoles are getting near the NORMAL end of life for consoles which is normally 6 years.
Though I do see Nintendo possabily being the first out of the gate for a new platform, especially since the Wii's lack of power is becoming a problem for muticonsole development and Nintendo is probably wanting to expand as well, they already upgraded the DS with the 3DS.

I don't understand why you'd prefer to wait for an improbable port instead of just buying the game for wii and having fun with it. It's like gamers are afraid of buying good games on nintendo consoles nowadays or on non-HD consoles. Graphics aren't everything but it looks like this gen has been all about graphics. Thank god nintendo managed to stay on top despite that.
Well, I rather not wait myself. I own all three consoles for a reason: Games. If a game comes out later, that's great but I rather not have to wait forever for it.
Also, its not always about graphics. The developers that focus solely on graphics usually end up developing crappy games. There are plenty of good games that rather don't have the best graphics or even go to an old-school theme (aka Megaman 9 and 10 and Scott Pilgrim). The best for certain games is when you get a good balance of great graphics AND great gameplay. On the Wii, I would point to Mario Galaxy for that one. Plays great and looks very surprisingly good for the Wii. But yea, graphics add to the presentation but shouldn't be a full focus.
However, the more powerful consoles don't just offer better graphics. They also add more power for physics, more things happening on screen (example: Dead Rising series) and other things going on in-game that help the gameplay. Game development is a very complex thing and the hardware follows along with that. But some developers are VERY good at making a great game based on limited hardware, thus why the Wii has allot of great games.
