"Kasady becomes a serial killer. He is captured and sent to Ryker's Island prison for 11 murders—though he brags of a dozen more—where he shares a cell with Eddie Brock, who had lost the alien symbiote that transformed him into the supervillain Venom. Brock's symbiote soon returns and bonds with him again, and unwittingly leaves behind the symbiote's offspring. The symbiotes reproduce asexually and the children are then of no consequence to the parent; hence, Brock's symbiote felt no need to inform Brock of the existence of its offspring. The new symbiote enters Kasady's bloodstream through a cut and bonds with his blood, transforming him into Carnage. He escapes prison, and begins a series of murders, and at the scene of each crime, writes "Carnage" on the walls with his own blood. He is found by Spider-Man, though the hero proves to be no match for Carnage's powers. In desperation, Spider-Man makes a truce with Venom to fight Carnage. Carnage is defeated with sonic weaponry, but the symbiote lives on because it is merged with Kasady's bloodstream."

You know, looking at this... it occurs.................
Why the fuck do comic book movies always have to start with an origin story?
Carnage is kinda... not really, but kinda, The Joker of the Spiderman series...Well, Carnage and Venom together... So what i mean is... People who WANT to see a comic book movie DO NOT need to see the origin, because they fucking know it.
The point? Forget about origins unless it is absolutely necessary. Skip ahead to the fucking story you WANT TO TELL! And more importantly, the one people want to hear. I have NEVER been into comic books, but do i need to know that Peter Parker got his powers from being bitten by a microwaved spider? No. Because you cant NOT know it, assuming you went to school.

Answer: 2, Venom and Carnage.
These are the two main ones, they are ooold in the story if you ever followed it.
Also, I'm pretty sure that Venom always has a guy/human inside, and is super big/buff, while Carnage is (freakily) just the symbiote (he may steal host bodies), and skinnier but just as powerful and way freakier than Venom. =P

Google is your frieeeend. http://spiderfan.org/characters/carnage.html
=P Anyways, it seems that while Carnage has had human and non-human hosts, "Carnage" refers more to the symbiote itself. Unlike Venom, which is primarily Eddie Broc with a specific symbiote.

carnage did have a human host at one point, cletus, who was a raging murdering psychopath. And the symbiote spawned from what was left of the original symbiote anyway, adaprting to what it needed, so in a way, carnage, while choosing a host only when it needed one to survive, and it mostly chose lunatics to do its bidding, which is what made carnage so formidable ^-^ i am a super nerd when it comes to this stuff, i love anything marvel haha
What on earth makes you think this piece of sex doesnt belong here in FA? Carnage/Venom are considered xenomorphic symboites and theres a decent amount of alien stuff here anywho. Wonderful work I adore the shading and never have I've seen so much detail on one of my most favorable marvel villian so a thumbs up and a fav
