Well, there is the option of Piercings in the membrane to pull ties taught... as well as piercing holes (in the wing's membrane as well) to let the ties slip through.

How about a molded corsette?

I always figured that would reduce the flight ability. And - that'd hurt!

The pains folks go through for fashion... From high-heel shoes, to skin treatments, to hair removal... I'd think having holes surgically placed in the thin skin for ties to go through would be sort of a "rite of passage" or somesuch. Worse than ear piercing, or *cringe* circumcision? Heh. (not even mention tatoos, liposuction, and other forms of body modification.)
But in this fantasy world, who really cares about those kinds of specifics anyways? ;) If it looks good, that's all that matters, right?
