Humane Restraint Hand Muff

The Humane Restraint Hand Muff was used in asylums from the late 1800's up to present. It was used mainly to prevent patients from "Self Abusing" themselves and from interacting with objects that can cause harm to themselves or others. In this job it was very effective I can assure you. The hands were placed and fastened at each end securely with a wrist cuff then closed up with staples and a locking belt passing through the staples to prevent unauthorised removal. The only disappointing comment I can make on this is the inside is a bit rough on the hands but it's really not much of an issue. If further security was required the cuffs can also be secured with a 5mm shackle padlock to prevent removal should the belt become compromised. Unlikely but better safe than sorry.
