Whoops. When I first wrote The Epsilon Project some 11 years ago, I incorporated some of the more esoteric DMFA lore into the story. Only I misremembered it and for some reason forgot to check the original source.

There are rare 'Cubi who are born without wings, but what happens when they mature is the part I got wrong. A normal 'Cubi will get wings appearing on their head during their 20s. This also happens to the wingless ones, but somehow I misread it as "They get backwings instead".
