With birds chirping, the family stopped by a rocky river to take a break from the sweltering heat. The sisters, as if oblivious to the summer heat, began to hunt for butterflies and lie in the grass, soaking up the sunlight, while Umbra was particularly interested in the river. Climbing on one of the rocks, he gazed into the water, occasionally noticing how something shiny and green, very cleverly avoiding all obstacles in its path, with great speed swam straight downstream, without stopping for a second. Curiosity took its course - Umbra makes several unsuccessful attempts to catch the unfamiliar fish with his paws like a cat, and when the target once more escapes his claws, he makes a desperate attempt and loads a volley, then fires a shot straight into the water, expecting any result at once. Alas, the volley was of little effect; its power at this age was only enough to scare the fish away for a couple of seconds, after which it nonchalantly continued swimming on its way. Annoyed, Umbra gives up and sits down on a rock with his head low and his ears pressed to it, and makes a low sound somewhat resembling a cry. But the sadness disappears as quickly as it appeared when he notices something large wedged between two rocks. Deftly jumping onto the rocks, he gets closer and grabs the large fish by the tail, which strangely doesn't offer much resistance. It only twitched its tail a couple of times and seemed to accept its fate without moving. Umbra had to make a lot of effort to pull the fish to the shore, but they immediately paid off: putting the fish on a flat rock, he called his sisters, and they ran up with undisguised delight in their eyes, sharing the joy with his brother.


Meanwhile, the adult male, hiding in the shade of a tree, cautiously approaches the gray-eyed female waiting for him, sits down next to him and looks at his children with sincere love in his eyes. The beloved, noticing a drop of water on his nose, quickly licks it off with her tongue and affectionately leans her head, looking at the same point, promising to keep their little secret.
