Takomander (Takomandaa) was the 46th Robot Kaiju of the Zelan's Dark Horror Army, unleashed on the 39th Episode of the Dino Mecha Gaiking Anime: "The Storm-Calling Arm of God".

_Appearance and Abilities_
Takomander was an Octopus Robot as big as the Daiku Maryu, with a Red and Yellow oval shape cone for a head; green lines around its eyes; a brown body connected to its Dark Red Tentacles, covered in suckers, meant to hold its grip on the enemy; a tube acted as its mouth where it fired both an dissolve fluid and missiles.

Takomander is the first monster destroyed by Nessar, though been piloted by Fan Li, in one of a few episode to not feature the Gaiking in combat.

_Story_
Fan Li – along with Sanshiro and Midori – go to a Kickboxing tournament, where his friend Chan Mei, also called the Arm of God, is one of the competitors. After winning the tournament with his fame Meteor Punch, Chan gives credit to his dear friend for helping in achieving everything he knows and gives him the Trophy as thank you gift, calling him a brother, which the former accepts. After returning to the Lighthouse, Fan Li puts on top of his trophy on the Daiku Maryu.

Later that night and unbeknownst to him, the Trophy, in fact a Transmitter, starts sending a signal to the Four General in Space; they unleashed a fleet of UFOs and a Death Cross Phenomenom next to it and the heroes go into action, though going underwater to not reveal itself, but facing the turbulence caused by their own attack, the Trophy falls from the bed and strops transmitting. The attacked is stopped and the Generals reconsider to using Chan Mei, as the Daiku Maryu finds harbor in a secondary base in Dogashima, west of their main base in Izu.

The group suspects the attack meant the villains may be getting closer to figuring out the location of their main base, this suspicions is confirm when Sakon discovers a Signal been transmitted from inside the ship during the attack. Thinking a spy is on board, the crew searches the ship, but Fan Li finds the toppled trophy with its circuitry expose, showing it to Sanshiro, the two conclude Chan Mei set them up. Sanshiro keeps it quiet while Fan Li heads to Chan, seeking answers.

Meanwhile, Chan Mei, already feeling guilty for his deception, is ordered by his Managers – Zelan Agents in fact – to sabotage the Daiku Maryu's drain pump, reminded he is bound to them by debt, but when Fan Li knocks on the door, the three men come up with a plan. A gun shot, prompts Fan Li to break in finding the managers on the ground, warning him strange men barge in after Chan, who is running from the two assailant. Fan Li barges in and beats the men, but not without one of them scoring a hit on Chan's shoulder – he informs him they wanted him to use his Meteor Punch to kill him; seeing the two fiends disguises defuse, realizing they are Dark Avians. Fan takes Chan away, with the Manager looking from a distance, reporting to the General who then sends out Takomander into combat.

At the secondary base, Chan Mei if left to rest after the surgery on his right shoulder, and Fan Li stays to keep watch on him; later, having fallen to sleep, Fan Li wakes up, seeing the bed empty and searches for him; Chan makes it to the Drain Pump and sets a bomb, but before he could run away, he is confronted by Fan Li. A fight ensues between the two, when the bomb goes off, destroying the Drain Pump. Trying to cover for Chan, Fan Li outs himself as the spy, having been "threaten" by the Zelans with killing his friend if not complying, and leaves the Daiku Maryu, taking Chan with him.

Later, demanding an explanation, Fan tells him he is willing to let everything go if Chan returns to Hong Kong and live for kickboxing, viewing him as a world champ who is a star of hope for Children everywhere and to not betray that trust; the words have an effect on Chan of regret and runs away, saying its too late. Back at the Secondary base, repairs are underway to get the Drain Pump back into operation; Sanshiro tells the truth to everyone about Chan and shows them the rigged up trophy – Daimonji sends Bunta and Sanshiro on the Nessar to pick up Fan Li; Takomander seeing their departure, it begins its assault on the Daiku Maryu, pulling it under with its tentacles and spilling a Dissolve fluid, then begins to bash the Daiku Maryu onto the ocean floor; Daimonji coming to realize this was the Zelans true plan all along.

Meanwhile, Fan catches up to Chan and his managers, begging them to take him back to Hong Kong, but is lynch by their men; Sanshiro barges in that moment and saves Fan Li; the villains reveal themselves to them as Zelan Knights and Dark Avians, then expose Chan by showing his Mechanical left arm and the truth behind his Meteor Punch. A regretful Chan confesses to Fan, wanting to be an invincible champion like him; then turns around and attacks the Zelans, but is shot by the Dark Knights, killing him, his last words begging for Fan Li's forgiveness. Fan Li, in a fit of rage, beats the two Knights. Bunta reports the others of the attack on the Daiku Maryu and the three return to the Nessar to help out, with Fan Li piloting the mecha this time.

Firing Nessar beam, it distracts the attention of the monster, allowing Daiku Maryu, now with its pump fixed, to activate its Volution Protect mode. Daiku Maryu begins to spin and pushes the Monster out of the water and in the air; Fan Li fires Nessar missiles, blasting a hole in the right eye. Daiku Maryu grabs it with it bite grip, allowing Fan Li to continue its assault on the monster, blasting all its tentacles off with Nessar Missiles. Fan Li then kamikazes into the monster's head, ripping through the systems and coming out through the other eye. The Daiku Maryu lets go of the monster and the Takomander explodes mid air, with it debris falling into the sea.

Later, with the misunderstanding clear, Fan Li is welcome back to the crew and thanks Sanshiro for his help, with Fan Li as of now, by Damonji's own words, Hong Kong's Shinning Star.
