Hello~!!
So, as I said I would, I wanted to share more about how the baby Turian base came to life, and what better way than to post it with the infant design of my OC?!
Let's dive into it~
A little backstory:
As we all know, there is a lot not really shared/known/learned about Turian babies (I am happily corrected if someone has found something), so, while I was speaking to a friend about ideas on how I could make Adopts more fun, or different, and overall just interesting, Baby Turians came into the topic due to my current obsession with creating designs for them!
What I know about Turian babies:
-- They come out, teeth at the ready (like guinea pig babies) and don't require milk from their mothers to help with immune development.
-- They are born like human babies.
(I know, so little Q.Q)
The details my friend and I came up with:
Since Turians have hard plates covering their bodies to help protect themselves from Palaven's solar radiation, but their children are born like human babies. I imagine that the mothers don't really need the added stress of trying to deal with the pointy edges of their infant's plates while also going through labor.
So! The idea behind how "not pointy" the baby looks, is that the babes are born with soft "squishy" plates that they grow into and develop in shape as they get older!
This is based on a real-world thing with Foals, "fairy fingers", their hooves are covered in a soft tissue that protects the mother from their hooves while in utero.
