King Cobra was the 48th Kaiju unleashed by the Dark Horror Army as the Monster of the week in the 41st Episode of the anime Dino Mecha Gaiking: "The Upside down Iron Cutter".

_Appearance and Abilities_
King Cobra, as its names implies, resembles a Cobra, at first starting small, like a normal snake, it grows to 100 meters in length when consuming the Photon Energy of the Daiku Maryu, making it the 2nd Monster after Gokibuler from Episode 25 with such a trait. King Cobra was red/purple in color with Yellow spots with a large one in the back with a green spot in its center, and an Orange under belly. This monster was more biological than mechanical, and was under the control of the Zelan agent Snaker.

In its small size, King Cobra could eat its way through metal and fired a laser beam from its mouth with destructive results, as well of great distance jump. When growing to its 100 Meter size, it blasted Fire breath and was capable of flight. It's rubber like body allows it to deflect and bounce back Gaiking's weapons attacks, though it was weak to extreme cold.

Its one of a few Kaiju destroy by the Daiku Maryu weapons, though with the help of the Gaiking.

_Story_
With Zela's end approaching, Emperor Darius pressures his Generals to begin a full scale invasion of the Earth with the whole might of the Black Horror Army. Trying to avoid a waste of the little resources they have left, the Generals present Snaker, an agent in charge of the Horror Beast King Cobra, a snake of normal size that will grow to 100 meters when feeding from the Proton Particles of the Daiku Maryu. Approving of the mission, the villains travel to Earth.

Meanwhile, Hachiro, is attacked by three bullies and steal a comic book he bought for Yamagatake. When explaining the situation to the others, Yamagatake rebukes no one should be part of the Daiku Maryu if not able to fight – this would have the disastrous consequence of setting our plot in motion, as Hachiro goes to the Bullies and fights with them, unbeknownst to them, a Zelan Capsule is hiding among the thick brush with the fiends watching; when one of the bullies pulls a branch, it reveals the top fin of the ship and before they could escape, Hachiro and the boys are taken prisoner by the Zelans.

As Sanshiro, Midori and Pete search for Hachiro, he and the kids are in a holding cell, their conversation been over heard by Snaker on a screen, when it is reveal he is part of the Daiku Maryu; Snaker brings Hachiro for interrogation but despite trying to use his Cobra to pressure brings no fruit. Later, he tries to allow Hachiro to go, but would hold the other three kids prisoner, willing to free them only if he takes a Box, with King Cobra in it into the Daiku Maryu. Complying under pressure, he avoids his friends, but tries to through the box into the sea, only stopped by a telepathic communication from Snaker that it contains a sensor that will allow him to know if he threw it away, thus threatening the lives of the kids again. With no way out, he takes the box to the ship, while reluctant to speak at first, Hachiro breaks under a great guilt of conscious and explains what had happen.

Therefor, the Daiku Maryu deploys to rescue the children, with Yamagatake keeping watch of the snake; Snaker has the Children ready for execution; the snake, having chewed its way out of the box, attacks and destroys the Computer Rooms. Gaiking is launched to carry out the rescue, with Hachiro tagging along Sanshiro; Gaiking makes it on time to save the kids and decimates Snaker and his troops and Hachiro goes down to free the kids. Meanwhile, King Cobra makes it to the Energy Storage Room, consuming the energy and begins to grow in size, causing considerable damage to the interior of the Daiku Maryu, breaking through: Damage and losing power, the ship crashes, to the delight of the Emperor and the Generals. King Cobra then tries to crush the weaken ship but Gaiking arrives and kicks the beast off with a Counter Kick, then the two fight.

Gaiking deploys Face Off and fires Gaiking Missiles and Hydro Blazer, to no effect, as the monster's skin deflects or bounces back the attacks. Seeing Gaiking in trouble, Pete provides help by smacking the monster off Gaiking, allowing it to escape, with the beast on his tail. Daiku Maryu follows with Giant Cutter deploy, but again the monster's skin deflects and slides off the attack; King Cobra torches the Daiku Maryu, and the ship, with little power for flight fall, though this time, Gaiking catches and carries it, Belly Up with the cutter still deploy, and flying towards the monster at high speed; Pete deploys the freeze Beam, hitting and freezing the monster. With its skin harden, King Cobra impacts the Giant Cutter and dissects the monster from head to tail, exploding in mid air.

As the debris falls into the sea, Gaiking carries the Daiku Maryu home, Hachiro and the kids cheering from the cliff.
