A Curious Encounter - by Demitri012
"I would help, but wasn't issued a Spade."
Those words snapped 231B out of the almost robotic repetition of digging his fighting position, looking beside him to notice the lithe figure of the one squatting beside him. They were abhuman that much was clear, their short fur and paw-like feet along with the slender tail showing clear as day how they'd strayed from the Emperor's perfect form. In that moment he was glad that he wore his mask as the other would likely not catch him gawking at the other's appearance, wondering just what the being was-
"I'm a Catturn: Homo Sapiens Cattus, and a Psyker. Scout Kay of the 63rd Empyrean Light Infantry. We're here to support the 55th Krieg Infantry on the defensive."
231B just found himself nodding, noting the insignia of the Astra Telepathica upon the camouflage cloak that this 'Catturn' wore. "Just keep an eye out, you don't need to dig." He muttered as he returned to his work, albeit somewhat more distracted now as he looked down the line and saw a similar situation of these Cattuns branching off, pairing up with other Kriegers where possible. They did seem friendly enough, and something about their presence was.. somewhat calming to him. It almost made him forget just why he was digging the Foxhole to begin with.
In the coming days however he'd be well reminded of his purpose here.
Here we have the first meeting of 231B and Demitri's Catturn boy Kay on some nameless Imperial world, as the Krieger is interrupted from his digging in by a curious Abhuman Auxillary, who he'd later become very close with.
