I thought that too at first, but one of the lines is clearly in front of the body.

Also it's the path of a fly.

... Okay that weird, I think the flies were added in later to make it more clear?

They were not there before, because I thought the lines were just stink lines.

The body comes back... but I feel something else at play

This is getting really good. I have a feeling that it is going to be way harder for Roko to get inside and live inside of his real body than what it seems. I have 3 theories of what might happen in this scenario:

1. Maybe Roko's real body is already decayed or expired and Roko's soul can't live inside of it?

2. Maybe another soul is already living inside of Roko's body which makes Roko's soul unable to live inside of his body?

3. Maybe an evil spirit is pretending to be a Roko doppelganger by living inside of Roko's body?

I think the #2 or 3 scenario is more likely to happen but I could be wrong. Thanks for posting this awesome page to us. Super awesome job as always and I can't wait to see what happens next, Virmir!! ^^

 

The body is too damaged for him to inhabit. OR, he CAN inhabit it but he falls out a lot since he isn't tethered to it anymore.

Well this certainly explains why those little reaper spirits keep hunting him.

They hunt him because they hunt all naked spirits to send them... elsewhere. They're like janitors from the Other Place.

He's always been vulnerable to them ever since he was transferred into the balloon. Long as he occupies a material shell, the Reapers don't see him. The moment that shell is broken, hey, spiritual detritus to clean up!

I suspect the other spirits he's eaten just make him MORE visible to the Reapers, too, if he loses his shell.

I'm not sure if his body is technically all-the-way dead because he's still roving around. But it's certainly in a state of decay since he hasn't occupied it in... how long, now? And to find that it got dumped out the garbage chute and left to rot in the sea? That's not going down well.

He may be stuck a Loon for a long, long time.

Honestly Roko's body is still surprisingly intact considering how long it's been.

All its bones are probably broken and it’s started decomposing from the high fall and overall time.

Now there could still be hope, we don't know the exact magic rules for all we know his body could still be viable...I hope

A question whether he can find a way to resurrect completely healed from everything.

As I recall, Roko is a shapeshifter, so wounds and broken bones can’t really affect him, what with all the different beings he turned into, including a quetz. Right now, the biggest problem would have be malnourishment. Even if his body can be possessed, he’d probably faint from the hunger he has not been feeling. One thing I’m certain of is that Roko’s body is not beyond broken.
