Another non-update on the TF drive.

If you Google it, you'll find something simple like "PayPal went up for sale and eBay bought it" which I swear was written by a PayPal Executive

…There is no way it captures the actual, year-long, nail-biting anxiety of the "will they / won't they" dance eBay made all the people whose livelihoods depended on it, live through (among them, several of my classmates—new school and old—who were using PayPal sales for everything from buying DLC to paying for school supplies)

Don't worry, eBay didn't lose any revenue from the change, people just used other payment methods during the transition (yes, there were many other well-known options back then, but setting them up was awful!)

And yes, back then, we said "I.M." (Instant Message) not "D.M." (Direct Message)—or just "messenger" (and DLC was called "add-ons")
