Things are heavy. They look pretty bleak, and I don't just mean the sky (or lack thereof). In all of this, there's a single ray of hope: Roffil's "Project StormShield". Ugh, depending on Roffil, though...
But hey, maybe things will go smoothly, and the device can break the Storm and return things to normal! Everyone can go about their day, with this blip of a few days as a bonding experience to talk about. "I remember where I was when the Storm enveloped the entire town." Maybe? ...Then again, this would be a pretty short book if nothing else happened. But that's metagaming. Meta-reading? (I am so tempted to draw up homebrew rules to run a D&D game in the Earth/Terra setting, letting players make characters from either world and meet for adventures, but I wouldn't even know where to begin balancing the magic system and reconciling it with the game's...)
Anyway, can't say too much here without spoiling the chapter, so I'll avoid saying more than I already have. I hope you enjoy!
And sorry for the delay between chapters. Health problems are being extra bad, and it's gotten things slowed down a lot. I don't know if they'll improve much, but I'm working on adapting so I can push through and still keep writing. This is one of the few hobbies I have left, and one of my most favorite, so I really don't want to have to give this up.
