This book completes the trilogy about Chakona, its inhabitants, the interaction of the chakats with some humans, skunktaurs and other races, such as the renzar and the rakshanis. All framed within the universe created by  Goldfur It's been almost two years of continuous work and it's fair to mention such important people  sethtriggs  Marksan  Wolfbane115 and all the people from Tales de Chakona Discord for fans.

CHAPTER 34

In a corner near the factory, there was a cafe open. Tiber and Jhonny entered and sat at a table, facing each other. A chakat who attended the business approached them to offer them something.

"I want the usual, Janyr... A hot coffee with milk" said the morph.

"Wow, Tiber. So late and still here?” replied the chakat.

"Yes... What do you want to drink?" The morph said, talking to Jhonny.

"I don't want anything sir, thank you" replied the human.

"Come on. It's cold. I invite" insisted Tiber.

"Seriously, don't bother, thanks," the engineer politely insisted.

"Okay, boy. You came looking for me. I hear you” Said Vera's father looking at the boy directly into his eyes. Jhonny was a bit nervous, but he tried to stay calm. He knew very well that he had to be careful with the words he would say in this first meeting.

“Well, first of all, I'm Johnny Carruthers. Systems Engineer. I live with my mother in Eucla City”

"Ok Johnny. I suppose you want me to apologize for what happened at my house, right?"

"No sir. I have not come for that. I just want you to know that I fell in love with your daughter Vera."

“Ahhh… So you fell in love with my daughter? And tell me… What do you like about my daughter? Her butt? Her breasts or her pussy? Huh?.. Be honest with me, boy!” The morph said sarcastically. Jhonny avoided falling for the provocation.

“Your daughter is a wonderful person. That's why I love her"

"Come on, Johnny. We are both male. And we both appreciate the same in a female. Tell me with confidence"

"Listen to me. If you can bring this conversation about your own daughter down to such a low level, I won't be in on it. I respect her too much for this" The human said with a firm voice. Tiber felt the hairs on his back rise in anger.

"Come on... Don't give me those things... I know you've slept with her... Isn't that right?"

"Vera and me we are adults, in case you haven't noticed!" Johnny said standing up.

“But she is still my daughter! Grrr…!” Tiber exclaimed angrily getting up too. The chakat that came with the coffee cup could clearly feel the morph's alteration.

"Calm down Tiber. I don't want scandals here at this time of night ”shi exclaimed. Johnny and the morph looked at each other. After a few moments, the engineer declared.

“I just came to tell you this. I love Vera. And I'll be there for her..."

“Listen boy. You are human and we are morph. We have nothing in common except language. And each one must be with its species ”

"I'm sorry, but that's not for you to decide" Jhonny replied, to then turn around and leave the premises towards the street. Tiber was about to pounce on him but Chakat Janyr stopped him.

"Calm down Tiber. What's going on here!" Said the surprised chakat. After a moment, shi added. “Tell me Tiber, do you really think that?"

"Sorry, Janyr... I didn't mean to make a scandal"

“Tiber!.. I couldn't help but overhear what you both talked about… Love is an inevitable force. That boy came to tell you that he loves your daughter and you were rude to him."

"What? Are you on his side now, Janyr?"

"Of course! I don't know him, but his emotions were the right ones, until you ruined them. Listen to me Tiber. We do not have the power to control the hearts of our children! They must make their own decisions."

“Grrr… Take the credits for the coffee. Leave." The morph said obfuscated, also leaving the cafe.

Jhonny had walked a few meters towards the small square where he had been sitting moments before. The frustration in his heart was evident. Vera's father definitely did not want anything with him. As the night progressed, so did the cold. He decided to find a place to spend the night. When he was about to leave, the chakat who had served them at the premises approached him. Jhonny was surprised to see hym standing next to him.

"Are you OK?"
"Yes, thanks. Sorry for the brawl"
"Don't worry. Come have a cup of hot coffee.” Janyr invited with a smile.
“I have to find a place to stay”
"Don't worry about that. Come with me…” the chakat kindly insisted. Jhonny stood up, and taking his bag, he followed the chakat back to the cafeteria.

In Amistad, the police officer Tagle Skunktaur, had arrived at the residential neighborhood that hy had seen on the map. Hy scanned the nearby buildings trying to identify the house where the chakat had been selling hys wares, before altering hys consciousness. However, Tagle did not know that eyes were on hym from several meters away. It was already night in Amistad when the skunktaur walked through the neighborhood. Suddenly, hy thought hy identified the correct house. Hy quickly approached to investigate. At that moment, a voice sounded in hys head.

"Too bad a skunktaur brother sticks hys nose where hy shouldn't." Tagle stopped immediately and looked around.
"Who are you?" The policeskunk responded mentally. But hy got no answer. Tagle tried to use hys psionic powers to locate hys interlocutor, but strangely, hy felt the pressure of a mental block that prevented hym from using them properly. Hy had never experienced such a thing before. The skunktaur knew immediately that hy was up against someone greater. Hy took hys PADD out of hys fanny pack to call for help, but when hy took it, hy couldn't move hys arm.

"Aggg... What's going on!" Tagle said to hymself. Hys hands and hys forehead began to sweat with fear.

"You won't do anything... Now you're mine!" Hy listened again in hys head, before losing complete control over hys body and hys thoughts. Tagle froze in the street with hys arms drooping. Hy dropped the PADD to the ground and hys gaze remained fixed without observing anything. Hys breathing was slow, and hys legs wobbled slightly. A hooded skunktaur approached hym slowly. With gloved hands, hy picked up the PADD from the cop and tucked it back into hys fanny pack.

"Come with me" hy said mentally and Tagle obeyed without saying anything. They walked a few yards together, and then the hooded skunktaur whispered into the police's ear. Immediately afterwards, they both separated and Tagle returned the way hy had come. Hys steps were leisurely and hys lost gaze was pointing nowhere. Meanwhile, the hooded skunktaur was lost among the neighborhood houses and the darkness of the night.

In the New New York cafeteria, there were no customers left. Chakat Janyr closed the entrance, and offered Jhonny to spend the night there with hym.
“You are very kind, Janyr. I'll pay your lodging..."
"Not in any way. If you want to pay me, then tell me your story with Tiber's daughter."
"Oh well…"
“I would really like to help you Johnny… I don't think like that stubborn cat”
"Do you know him?"

"Yes, many years ago. I also know Vera. I have seen her grow, since she came with her mother to pick up Tiber at the factory, when she was a girl. She always said that she wanted to be an engineer."

"I see" Jhonny said taking a sip of coffee with milk.

“Usually I sleep at my house, which is not far from here. But tonight I will stay with you. There is a room with clean beds here. I'll take a shower and soon I'll be with you. Make yourself comfortable” The chakat said as shi entered the bathroom. Jhonny found Janyr's coffee and kindness delicious. The place was not very big, but they sold what was necessary to satisfy the hungry workers of the factory. Once the chakat finished drying, shi invited Jhonny into the room. Janyr, an expert mother, sat on the bed and motioned for the engineer to lie down next to shi. Janyr's fur was soft and shi smelled very pleasant after hys bath.

After getting comfortable in bed, Jhonny told Janyr how he met Vera and how they had fallen in love. He told hym about the fight that forced him to go to the airport for Vera, and the time they worked together in Kat'turna.

“Johnny, it's hard for some parents to accept that their children are growing up. That was a process that I too had to learn to accept. My children became adults from one moment to the next… And I hardly noticed it… Tiber is going through that process with Vera. If you ever have kids, you'll understand."
“I can imagine it, Janyr. I guess I'm not what he expects for his daughter."

“All parents want the best for our children… And Tiber is no exception. I know that you are a good boy, Jhonny. I can feel it, here in my chest. You're a good match for her.

“I… I love Vera. And I know that she loves me too.

“Heh heh… I don't doubt it son. I can feel your emotions when you talk about her. Tiber is jealous. Jealous of dad But I'm sure he'll accept you eventually. Maybe it's a long process. Be patient, son. Both you and Vera must be patient. Step by step Johnny." The chakat said smiling. Jhonny nodded reflecting on Janyr's words. The human lay back and tried to rest. Janyr caressed his hair tenderly and stayed with him all night, comforting him and snuggling him close to hym.

It was already early in the morning in Amistad and there were only a few hours left before Chakastra appeared once more over the eastern mountains. In the busy center of the city, the daily activity began to awaken. Through the streets numerous Chakonians were already swarming moving from one place to another. In their midst, Tagle Skuntaur walked with a songlike step. Those who passed in front of hym imagined a person who had just woken up. Hy looked ahead, but saw nothing, or anyone. Just an empty mist. Hys shaky legs had carried hym from the periphery to the center of the city walking all night. Hy hadn't even answered the calls hys police colleagues had made to hys PADD. Tagle, stopped in front of a busy avenue. Public and private transport vehicles rushed from one side to the other. The police skunktaur saw in the middle of that mental fog, hys patner, who was waiting for hym with open arms a little further away. Seeing hym, Tagle ran to meet hym eagerly. Hy advanced as far as hy could, until the swat of a programmed VTP hurled hym several meters over the street. The people who passed by at that time could not understand how a skunktaur had run, directly towards a moving VTP. Some came to check on hys condition, while others urgently called the emergency services. Tagle was bleeding from hys mouth and ears. The impact had been too strong. Hys breathing became weaker, while hys hearts tried in vain to keep hys body alive.
