This book completes the trilogy about Chakona, its inhabitants, the interaction of the chakats with some humans, skunktaurs and other races, such as the renzar and the rakshanis. All framed within the universe created by  Goldfur It's been almost two years of continuous work and it's fair to mention such important people  sethtriggs  Marksan  Wolfbane115 and all the people from Tales de Chakona Discord for fans.

CHAPTER 36


In New New York, a new business day had already begun. It was the last of the week, in Chakona and the light from Chakastra was sometimes interrupted by some clouds that covered the sky of the city. In the cafeteria located near the factory where Tiber Markhams work, there were already several customers having breakfast. At one of the tables, his wife, Carla, was enjoying a small coffee with milk. Jhonny and Vera appeared from one side, accompanied by Chakat Jamyr. The female morph stood up and greeted the human by shaking his hand.

"Good morning, Mrs. Markhams."

"Hello Johnny"

"Carla. Long time not see you!" Jamyr said in turn, greeting with a hug.

"How is your family Jamyr?" Carla asked politely.

“Everyone is fine. Today my denmate Zirum accompanies me. My sons Calev and Denis are at their respective jobs. And my eldest son, Evod, is still working on that distant space station in that new system... Vika I think that is the name.

"Oh... Shi still doesn't come to visit you?"

"No. I guess shi has a lot going on there. Although shi sends messages from time to time. We know shi is fine. But I don't want to keep interrupting. I guess you guys have a lot to talk about hehe.”

"Thank you Jamyr, once again, for hosting Jhonny in this place" Vera said, with a smile as she took her boyfriend's hand.

"Don't worry daughter. Please make yourself comfortable. I'll bring you something for breakfast" The chakat finally said, before retiring to the kitchen. Jhonny and Vera sat at the table, next to Carla. The boy felt a little nervous, but Vera's presence calmed him down. Besides, Mrs. Markhams didn't seem as hostile as her husband.

“Jhonny. I want to start by saying that my daughter Vera has told me a lot about you these days. We have talked extensively about you two… And I must say that Vera's happiness matters more to me than anything else. I have realized that she found in you the person who makes her happy today. And being so, I cannot oppose yours relationship. I apologize for my husband Tiber's attitude. Honestly, I am also surprised and ashamed of what happened at home."

“Oh no Mrs. Markhams. You shouldn't apologize. I… I understand Mr. Tiber's protective attitude. I'm sorry to cause you trouble” Jhonny hastened to answer.

“Still, I'm sorry Johnny. For my part, you and Vera have my blessing to be together."

"Oh, thank you very much, Mrs. Markhams."

“Please, just tell me Carla. We are all adults here."

“My husband is stubborn. But do not worry. He must understand that you and Vera love each other."

That morning at Amistad, Esteban arrived at work in the 111 building with his head down. Upon entering the engineering room, he saw Gerak-Nee sitting in front of his monitor. The Rakshani, sensing his presence, stood up and inquired with concern.

“Esteban, have you heard from Natany? I found out from the news about the death of her police colleague. She must be very affected."

"I'm sorry Gerak. After Regthar gave me the news, I tried to call her this morning, but she didn't answer. Maybe dad has had better luck. I guess she must not be feeling very well. She and the deceased police officer were close, from what I know."

“Grrr… I'm so sorry… I can't understand… A policeman hit by a PTV? As an engineer, I know that such an accident is highly unlikely to happen. Our technology is highly developed…”

“I know, Gerak. Some say that Tagle threw himself against the vehicle on hys behalf… The versions are confusing and the police are still investigating what happened. At the spaceport, Ulk and Regthar began their regular workday, dressing in their regulation uniforms backstage.

"I understand. As soon as I get out of here, I'll go see her. I imagine that the Khudok fighters will also go”

“Rhealle is with her. She was also sad. We must also support Trend. I know him well. Although he seems rude, I know well that he is suffering too ”

"I understand," Ulk finally said.

At that moment, Regthar's PADD rang.

"Hello Dad"

"Esteban, son. Something happens?"

“Everything is fine here. I just wanted to ask you a favor."

“I didn't tell you this morning, because I just made the decision. Could you come with me to see…Joseph?”

“Do you want to see… your father?”

"Yeah"

“I see you more confident with Esteban. I'm happy for you two. You already lost the fear of losing it, isn't that so” Ulk commented. Regthar, after sighing for a moment, replied:

“Esteban is a wonderful boy. Both Sorah and me. Even Hajo, we feel lucky to have met him. That day at the beach, when we played volleyball, he and I talked. And that's when I knew that he would never stop being my son, no matter what."

“Heh heh… I'm really glad to hear it, my friend. And now he needs you."

"And I'll be there, for him" Regthar finished with a smile in his heart.

At home, Sorah was worried about Natany. She tried calling her several times on her PADD, but got no answer. Hajo crawl around the dining room handling some toys. Suddenly, some knocks were heard at the door of the house.

"Maybe it's Natany" Sorah thought and quickly approached the door. When she opened it she was surprised to see her father Avik standing in the doorway.

"Dad?.."

"Hello daughter"

"No... I didn't expect to see you so soon after your fight with Regthar."

“Yes… Well I… I'm sorry. Sorry daughter. That shouldn't have happened."

"What did you come for?"

"Sorah... In a few days I will return to Grom... And I didn't want to leave without talking, quietly with you" Old Renzar said. Sorah, after thinking for a moment, invited him inside.

“Your house is… Very pretty daughter”

“It is the home that Regthar and I built, after emigrating from Grom”

“Yeah, yeah… Both of you did a good job. It's a quiet place to raise Hajo, I guess. And by the way, where is that dark ball of fur?”

"Wait a minute. I'll bring him to you" Sorah said, as she took the child in her arms and handed it to his grandfather"

“Ohhh… Hello little one! How have you been huh?” Renzar's cub reached out his little hands and hugged the old Renzar with the tenderness and innocence of a child. Avik was touched by the positive energy emanated from his little grandson. Sorah, however, paced back and forth, restless.

"What's wrong, daughter?"

【“Oh come on Sorah. I didn't come here to argue… I… I seriously want to know how you are doing”]

【“Do you care about me now? Is seriously? Now?"]

["OK. I don't think I came at the best time, right? I'd better go… Take care Sorah… I'll let you know when the spaceship leaves”] Renzar said before standing up and leaving Hajo sitting in an armchair. After a moment, he turned and walked towards the exit. Sorah, with a lump in her throat, stammered:
"Wait dad... Don't go... Please stay..." Avik, moved, turned around and received his daughter in his arms.

"Oh, my little Sorah... Calm down... I'm here" The Renzar said in a soft voice, as he snuggled the female against his chest. Both remained embraced for a long time, while Hajo pirouetted happily on the chair.

At the medical center, Sachi and Lilethe made their respective reports of their visits. As they sorted out their diaries, the female Renzar couldn't help but express her concern for Natany, her colleague from the Khudok.

"Poor Natany. It must be very hard for her to lose her friend."

“Yes… I haven't been able to talk to her. No one from the family really. I have the feeling that she wants to be alone for a few hours, to mourn hys death calmly, ”said Lilethe.

"I see... That makes sense."

“Sachi. Natany will need all the support and comfort that her friends can give her at this time."

“Yes… Of course Lilethe. We will be there for her."

“By the way Lilethe. A patient of yours, Faise by name, has been calling. Last time he asked me when you were going to check his paw ”

“Sachi… I have no plans to replace Doren. I'm fine with Esteban. Our mental connection gives me stability. It's weird, but true."

"Of course we do... Esteban and I do it... But we can't force hym to be with us... I love Doren, and if one day hy decides to return, there will always be a place in my heart for hym"

"It's the truth. And I'm sure Esteban feels the same” The skunktaur nurse finally declared, before going out to visit a new group of patients.

After requesting the respective permit, Esteban went to the entrance of the building. Below, the passenger PTV stopped just in time to pick him up. The boy climbed into the passenger seat, next to Regthar. Inside, there were several passengers.

“We will drop some newcomers off at a couple of hotels. Then we will go to our destination”

"Sounds good to me dad. Thank you"

Regthar switched on the PTV and they sped out of the airport. On the way, they dropped some passengers off at their respective lodgings, then headed to the hostel where Regthar had taken Joseph when he arrived in Chakona.

“Esteban, do you remember when you arrived? I took you to Civitas Resort on this PTV”

“Heh heh… Of course I remember. You gave me a tour of the whole city”

"Yeah... Hey... Are you sure you want to see your father today?"

“I am completely sure. Don't worry. I feel good to do it” replied the human.

After traveling the distance to the periphery, the PTV finally arrived at the lodging. Regthar helped the last two passengers carrying their luggage, while Esteban got out of the vehicle and observed the building curiously.

“Very well, the newcomers have settled in. It's time to go with your father” Renzar said putting a hand on the boy's shoulder. They both entered the lobby expecting to be served. A receptionist chakat welcomed them.

"How can I help you?"

"We are looking for a passenger, Mr. Joseph Melinao, a human from Terra" Esteban replied.

"Allow me to verify" Said the chakat consulting hys PADD. After a moment, the receptionist raised hys head and declared.

"Are you relatives of Mr. Melinao?" Esteban and Regthar looked at each other. The human responded.
"He is my father, Shir"

"Your father?"

"Yes shir"

“Oh… We didn't know if Mr. Melinao had relatives in Chakona. We tried to locate them, but we couldn't."

“Locate us?… Why? What happen?" Esteban asked. The chakat, with a serious tone, replied:

"I'm sorry. Mr. Melinao suffered a decompensation of his state of health two days ago. And he was rushed to the General Hospital of Amistad ”

"What!"

"I'm really sorry."

"And how is him?" Regthar asked in turn.

“Well… According to what the hospital informed us… His condition is serious. His belongings are still here, if you wish to take them with you” stated the receptionist.

Esteban was speechless. This was unexpected for him. Everything he had planned to solve his problem with Joseph had been cut short. Regthar, placing both hands on his shoulders, declared.

"Do you want to go to the hospital now, son?" Esteban, after a moment of doubt, agreed. The Renzar thanked the kindness of the chakat and left with the boy almost dragging him towards the PTV, since he was still shocked by the news.
