This book completes the trilogy about Chakona, its inhabitants, the interaction of the chakats with some humans, skunktaurs and other races, such as the renzar and the rakshanis. All framed within the universe created by  Goldfur It's been almost two years of continuous work and it's fair to mention such important people  sethtriggs  Marksan  Wolfbane115 and all the people from Tales de Chakona Discord for fans.

CHAPTER 39

When Esteban left the building of the rest house, Chakastra had already hidden and the stars were twinkling far in the sky between some clouds. Going down the stairs to the outside, he saw Regthar sitting on a bench in the middle of an ornate garden.

"Dad! I thought you came home."

"Eh... Well no... I wanted to wait for you, son" the renzar replied, standing up. Esteban looked at him tenderly. He hadn't expected that spontaneous gesture of concern.

"You don't trust me, do you? Heh heh"

"No, son. It's not that. It's just... Well, you've gone through such difficult times in your life... And now you find out that your father has left... And you find out that you have a half-sister!... Esteban, I don't know how you can be so calm..."

The boy, hearing Regthar in such a fatherly tone, smiled. He reached out to him and took one of the stubby fingers of his hand.

"Dad. Over time, I have learned that no one has control over the world. The only thing we control is ourselves and how we respond to it. I would have liked to tell Joseph that everything is fine. But Bram, hy told me that my father already knows. And I believe hym. And meeting my sister is undoubtedly a beautiful surprise that fate had in store for me. Knowing that I have more relatives on Terra makes me happy.

“Esteban…”

“But the most important thing right now, is you, Mom, and Lilethe. And of course Natany, that she must be very sad now. My friends Jhonny, Vera, Lorna, Lorel, Mark and his family. Rena and Aunt Rogar… As fate would have it, all of you were my universe. And that gives me the tranquility and peace that I now have in my heart.

"Esteban... Why do I feel that when you speak... You are saying goodbye? .. Perhaps... Will you return to Terra?"

“Heh heh… No. I don't know why you feel that way. I only express what I feel in here.

"Oh, little one, come here" Said the Renzar receiving the human in a warm hug. Regthar closed his eyes, and as he caressed Esteban, memories of Tanyio suddenly came to his mind. For a moment he caught even the scent of him, his soft fur and his scent.

"Tanyio... Tanyio" The great bear sighed, while a couple of tears fell down his cheeks. Esteban hearing it, declared:

“I'm sure he's proud of you now. And he loves you, Sorah and Hajo so much, like you can't imagine. You have built a wonderful family. You are an extraordinary person, Regthar Sivem, the father that any child would want to have. And I thank fate for having met you"

Immediately afterwards, Esteban stood on the bench to be at the height of the renzar. He took his head in his hands and kissed him on the forehead. Regthar still felt in that gesture, the presence of his deceased son. Excited, he hugged the boy again and held him in his arms.

"I love you, boy"

"And I to you, dad"

After a few minutes, they both decided to return home. Regthar drove swiftly until he reached the destination. Once there, Lilethe and Hajo, mounted on hys back, greeted them at the entrance. The skunktaur could sense Esteban's deep emotions. And excitedly, hy reached out to him and hugged him. The little renzar stretched out his little hands towards them and Regthar held him lovingly.

“My little son… heh heh heh…” he commented.

Sorah, for her part, also left the house and with a smile, welcomed them.

“Come in for dinner. The night is cold, and it seems that a storm is approaching” Said the female, hugging her husband.

"That's good! I'm already starving, heh heh…” Regthar said before entering the house.

"You have something to tell me?" Lilethe suddenly asked Esteban in a low voice.

“Nothing you haven't captured through me. My sister is very pretty, don't you think?

"Yes... It looks like you" The skunktaur said as they both entered the house with their arms around each other.

At that time, in a continental transport, Vera and Jhonny were traveling to Eucla City. It was already early morning on the mainland, but it was still dark. The couple traveled lying next to each other, keeping warm with their warm bodies. Soft blankets covered them. Johnny however, was awake. His restless mind, he thought about the conflict that his presence had caused in Vera's family. At some point he thought if he was doing the right thing or not, being with her. But looking at her asleep next to her, and caressing her soft hair, he had no doubts about her feelings. Vera was the person he wanted to be with.

At Rena's house, Relia stayed every night while she attended her therapies. And every night, she slept in Holly's arms. But tonight, it wasn't just the young skunktaur who wanted to be with her. But also hys little brothers, who sneakily climbed on the bed to enjoy the soft fur of the polar bear. Relia felt lucky to be with this family of skunks. And while the little ones slept next to her, she thought that her life, little by little, was changing for the better. She was also thinking about Droken and the romantic dinner the night before. She smiled to herself as she remembered the incident with Avik. And she wondered if she could see that big black renzar again before he got back to Grom.

After dinner, Esteban went out to the patio of the house. The sky had been covered with clouds and the stars were no longer visible. A tepid wind indicated the approach of rain in Topaz Bay. He walked across the grass for a few moments, then sat down on it. He sighed thinking of his father Joseph and his sister Angela. Suddenly, he took out of his pocket, the small holographic reflector that she had given him. He held it in his hand, steeling himself to listen it. Bram had told him the circle had come full circle and to do what his heart told him.

So, he put it in front of him and activated it. A sharp image of Joseph appeared sitting in an armchair. The hologram, began to speak.

"Esteban. I know you've been too busy to receive me, and I understand. But I don't want to leave without telling you this. I deserve all the hate and resentment you can feel against me. I have no excuses for having abandoned you so many years ago, while you were still a child. Or the way I treated you. I stupidly involved you in my pain and despair. I dragged you into a life of misery you didn't deserve. Instead of fighting for you, and your happiness, I thought only of myself. I know it's too late to remedy it, son. I do not seek your forgiveness. If I came to Chakona, it was only to find out if, despite all the damage I did to you, you were fine and happy. And I was glad to know that you had a new family and friends. I also started again, and tried to make up for my mistakes... Esteban... If... If there was some way to turn back time... But that is precisely what we have the least... And time is, the most valuable thing that any living being possesses... Take care a lot, son…”

At the end of the holographic projection, Esteban put his hands on his face and began to cry bitterly. He cried like he never had before. Not even Vroeg's death had brought tears with such intensity. In a quiet moment, the boy said in a low voice.

"I forgave you dad... And wherever you are... I hope you keep peace, like I keep it now" Only Lilethe could hear that thought. Esteban didn't realize that the whole family was standing behind him. The boy turned and stood up. Seeing them, a thought came to his head, and he calmly declared.

“For this moment, you prepared me, didn't you Vroeg?… For this moment!” At that moment some lights in the sky illuminated the clouds. They all seemed like lightning, indicating the approach of rain. Lilethe approached Esteban and took him by the hands.

"You are an extraordinary human being, my love... Everything will be fine" Said the skunk. Sorah also went to him and hugged him tenderly.

"Son... Thank you for everything... Thank you for talking to my father," she whispered in his ear. The boy was surprised but nodded silently. Regthar also reached out and ruffled his hair.

“We have to go, one of these days, to Silver Lake, to eat fish, ha ha…” he said smiling.

They all went back inside the house, since the fall of the rain was imminent that night.

The next day, Gerak-Nee had arrived at work early in the morning. The weather was rainy and cold. When he arrived at building 111, he noticed that the stariionae that had been parked in the hangar for some time was gone. He guessed that no one in the company had managed to establish direct communication with the creature, other than conventional Federation systems.

"One less task to do" the Rakshani thought to himself, sitting down in front of his monitor. At that moment, Esteban and Chakat Lorna entered the room. Seeing them, the rakshani greeted them by wagging his tail.

"Hi guys. I went to the cafeteria and brought you a snack” and then gave his coworkers a bag with a sandwich each. Esteban and Lorna looked at each other strangely and with their mouths open, since they had never seen their coworker behave so kindly towards them.

"Hey, Gerak... Are you feeling alright?" Esteban asked half jokingly.

“Huh?…Yeah, I'm fine. Why do you ask?"

“It must be the rain. Perhaps rainy days put the Rakshani in a good mood,” Lorna suggested quietly.

"No! Not at all Gerak... It's just... It's the first time you've bought something for Lorna and me, ha ha... Thank you"

"Yes, thanks Gerak" added the chakat with a smile. Suddenly, the human stopped and addressed the rakshani.

“Wait… You did what I told you, right? You went to see Natany!”

“Natany? How is she?" He asked over Lorna.

"Eh? .. Well, she's fine. She is in better spirits. I went to offer my condolences… And…”

"AND...???" the engineers asked in unison.

"And?"

"And what happened?"

"What happened to what?"

“Hmm… Wait… I can smell it… Oops! You were finally with Natany right? Lorna said closing one eye.

"Hey??" Gerak exclaimed in surprise.

"Ahhhhh... Now I understand so much kindness... You were with Natany ha ha ha ha... And tell me... did you bite her ears?" Gerak turned red as a tomato in that instant.

“You are a Casanova, Gerak. From what I know, Natany is not an easy renzar to approach."

“Grrr…. ENOUGH!.. THAT IS PRIVATE!” roared the rakshani with the hairs on his back angry"

"Nah, come on buddy. Don't worry. This will remain between us…” Esteban said carefree. Gerak returned to sit at his desk without saying a word. However, his thoughts were with Natany and the beautiful night they had both lived.

At the police station, officers had returned to their usual duties after attending Tagle's funeral that morning. Chief Trend ordered Rhealle to accompany Natany on street patrols today. As it was raining in the city, the Renzars couple used a police vehicle to make the tour.

"Natany, do you want to eat something before continuing?"

“No thanks, Rhealle. I'm fine"

"Do you want to tell me where we are going?"

"To a sector of the city where Tagle supposedly came"

"Supposedly?"

"Yes, on your office computer, there was an active map of this sector," the brown-skinned renzar said.

"But the accident was on the opposite side of Amistad"

"I know. But she's just a hunch Rhealle."

"Alright. I follow you” replied the police colleague. Heavy rain sometimes made driving on wet streets difficult. After a few minutes, the police transport vehicle finally reached the sector indicated by the map. It was a residential area, where there were large houses surrounded by lush gardens and trees. In the streets, few people traveled due to the rain.

"Natany, if Tagle came here, hy should be registered in hys PADD, don't you think?" suddenly inquired Rhealle.

“The team of investigators that took on the case found nothing in Tagle's PADD. Just some files that hy strangely deleted hymself. And that's strange, because Tagle was one of the police who record everything” Natany replied.

Suddenly, a PTV approached the place and parked in front of one of the houses. When the driver got out, Natany was surprised to see that it was Lilethe. She quickly got out of the police vehicle and approached hym.

“Lilethe!”

"Natany!" answered this one, seeing the huge renzar approaching.

"What a surprise to see you here!"
“Oh Natany, I am so sorry about what happened with your police colleague. Forgive me for not giving you my condolences sooner, but I assumed you wanted peace of mind."

“This is Lilethe, it is true. I didn't want to see anyone. But thanks anyway” she replied giving hym a loving hug. Then she asked hym.

"What are you doing in this place?"

“Oh, I visit a patient, medicine at home”

"I understand. I won't delay you anymore. Have a good day Lilethe. Give my regards to Esteban. Tell him I'm better. Tail High!”

"I will Natany. Tail High!” answered the nurse and then went to the entrance of the house. Natany returned to the police vehicle with Rhealle."

"Wow, what a surprise, so hy was Lilethe"

“Yes… They have been very worried about me. I will have to visit my brother soon. For now…"

“Heh heh… I know you've been busy… I can smell that Rakshani boy on you… Forgive my indiscretion Natany, but… I couldn't help it… Heh heh”

"It's alright Rhealle. We don't keep secrets. Let's go back to the headquarters and I'll tell you the details, heh.”

“That's the Natany I know! Come on!" Rhealle said excitedly.

As Lilethe knocked on the front door of the house, the familiar figure of hys patient Faise Skunktaur opened the door for hym.

“Welcome nurse Lilethe. I was waiting for you"

"Thank you Faise. How does your paw feel? asked the nurse.

"Oh much better. As the days go by, I feel it stronger. But please come in" Said the host. Entering, Faise settled on a taur pad so Lilethe could examine hys paw more carefully. After loosening the bandages, the nurse declared.

"Hmm, it certainly looks a lot better!"

“Ah… That thanks to you”

“Heh heh… I've only done my job Faise. Your healing power is very good."

“Lilethe, I don't want to be bold, but tonight I'm having a party here at my house. Some friends and some neighbors will come from here… It would be a great honor if you and your lifemate could come”

"Are you serious?" Lilethe responded surprised by the proposal.

"Yeah! Grosh and I want to celebrate the anniversary of our union."

"Oh I see. That seems very cute, hehe. You are very kind to invite us, but I cannot promise you anything."

“Oh please, my pretty nurse, tell me that you will at least think about it. Please,” Faise pleaded as Lilethe changed the bandage on hys paw.

"Alright. I'll discuss it with my lifemate and maybe…”

“Yay! You will see that we will have fun. Tell me, how long has it been since you went to a party with your lifemate?"

“Uh?.. Well, really a long time ago…”

"You see? Please Lilethe” Faise insisted taking hys hands. They both stared at each other. Faise slowly brought hys mouth and kissed hym warmly. Lilethe blushed completely, but hy enjoyed the moment just the same. Then when they separated, the nurse declared "

“Oh… I'm sorry… I got carried away… This isn't right”

“No… Don't apologize, it was me who didn't hold back. Sorry… The… The invitation is done”

“O… Okay Faise… I'll think about it… I have to visit other patients. The rain is pounding hard outside, don't you think?"

“Oh yes… What… Have a nice day Lilethe. I will wait for you"

“I I… Thanks you. Tail High!”

"Tail High" Faise said with a smile.

Lilethe left the house along with her technical materials and boarded hys VTP. A pleasant feeling ran through hys body after Faise's kiss. A sigh escaped from hys mouth before starting the vehicle and heading to the next patient's home.
