The Starborn don't just think, they know they were created by the gods. Their most distinct feature, besides their purple fur and their curled horns, are the blue spots along their head and down the left side of their bodies. These spots shine like stars (hence their name) when they channel magic; the stronger, the brighter.

Beyond that, they are fierce believers in social order, with rigid castes derived from their parents. There are few restrictions on which castes can and can't marry, but it is universally understood that there is no changing the caste you are born with. To leave your own caste is unthinkable. Anyone who does so becomes unthinkable, as do their children, and is driven out of society into the wilds. It is a small price to pay for order.
