This book completes the trilogy about Chakona, its inhabitants, the interaction of the chakats with some humans, skunktaurs and other races, such as the renzar and the rakshanis. All framed within the universe created by  Goldfur It's been almost two years of continuous work and it's fair to mention such important people  sethtriggs  Marksan  Wolfbane115 and all the people from Tales de Chakona Discord for fans.

CHAPTER 43

The blow immediately stunned the skunk who was left lying on the ground.

"Get out of here. All of you!" Rockshie exclaimed addressing those present. Although shi was also under the influence of alcohol, shi had enough mental strength to break free from Faise's control, just like Lilethe. The profession of lifeguard and hys forced hym to keep a robust body and healthy mind. The chakats holding Esteban released him, confused. Grosh, seeing that his skunktaur friend had been attacked, jumped on Rockshie grabbing hym by the neck.

"You! Fuck!" exclaimed the raccoon. However, the chakat managed to get rid of him by throwing him against a wall.

"Faise! Faise! Wake up!" Grosh exclaimed when he found himself powerless. Rockshie began to go through the rooms trying to wake everyone up. For his part, Esteban made Lilethe react by shaking hym from hys shoulders.

"Come on Lilethe! Wake up!" he exclaimed. The female woke up little by little, while hy was still licking everywhere.

"Lilethe, calm down. We have to get out of here and call the police."

"Uh?" Esteban? What... What's wrong?" Hy said sleepily.

"We have to go. If Faise wakes up again, hy will control them all. I have to get you away from hym" The human said. Taking Lilethe's hand, he tried to run with hym out of the house. But both his lifemate and him still had an alcoholic body. Taking awkward steps, and supporting each other, they walked to Lilethe's VTP parked outside, as the rain continued to fall. Once they boarded the vehicle, the skunktaur attempted to program it with the route home.

"No Lilethe, we better go to the police station. Natany must know this"

"Okay, but I'm too drunk to do it. You do it" The skunktaur said. Esteban tried but, due to his inexperience, he had no results either. They tried to use their PADD, but realized that none of them had it with them.

"Damn!.. They must be inside!" Esteban said.

"There is no time. We must get out of here. I feel like Faise's thoughts are coming back. Hy must have woken up” Lilethe said, before starting the PTV manually and walking away little by little from the place.

Inside the house, Rockshie continued to wake up the guests, still drowsy from the alcohol and Faise's control over them. Many of them had already gone outside. Rockshie led them outside, as Faise woke up but hy pretended to still be unconscious.

“All of you have to go back to yours homes. I'll call the police” the lifeguard chakat told them. In that instant, his body reeling from alcohol was paralyzed. Turning, shi saw Faise approaching hym with an outstretched hand and a look that radiated hate.

"You Rockshie, you dare to attack me from behind!"

“It is you Faise who has attacked our minds from the beginning! grrr!” The Chakat replied.

“Don't make a fuss here Faise. Don't lose your cool” suggested Grosh who had come up next to hym. "There are many witnesses!"

At that moment, the skunktaur concentrated, causing all the chakats to fall back into a state of torpor. Several lay down on the ground. While others continued to sleep inside the house.

"There are no more witnesses," Faise declared. Grosh was surprised with the control ability of his partner.

"Don't worry. I will erase the memories of these But that damned chakat dared to attack me” The skunktaur roared. Rockshie tried to move, but hys drunken body and Faise's power prevented hym. Suddenly, the skunktaur lifted Rockshie into the air using hys telekinesis, and threw hym violently against the trunk of a tree in the park in front of the house. The pain the chakat felt in hys body was intense, as the lightning bolts from the storm continued to illuminate the night.

“Phaise! Take it easy!" Insisted the raccoon, worried that his friend would lose control. But the skunktaur continued to punish whoever was hys neighbor, with hys telekinesis. Hy lifted it up into the air again and threw it roughly against another of the trees in the area. The impotent chakat could not control hys body. This time, the blow was to hys head, causing bleeding from hys mouth and nose, and leaving hym completely unconscious.

"Enough Faise! You don't have to kill hym!" Grosh exclaimed, trying to appease the skunktaur's anger.

“Grrr… Witnesses nullified, enemy subdued. Only those two who managed to flee in the PTV remain” He grumbled. "I didn't expect that Lilethe could resist my control"

"We have to go, surely they notified the police" Said the raccoon.

“They haven't done it yet. I can see through the mind of the nurse. And I am subtly manipulating hym so that hy drives to a far part of the city. And because of that strange bond between them, I can also see what that human is thinking. I am intrigued by that connection. Maybe I can use that bond to control other creatures besides the chakat-kin, don't you think, Grosh?"

“Damn Faise, I told you the first time! The red paws are more difficult to control!.. But you… You got excited about that nurse! Now they escaped and surely, they will go with the police” claimed the raccoon.

“Heh heh… Calm down! They won't get far… You always asked me why I tried to keep my body weight around 200 kilograms… Now you'll know why” Faise said with a smile.

"What do you mean!" Asked the intrigued raccoon. At that moment, the skunktaur closed hys eyes and visualized in hys mind the precise place where Lilethe's PTV was on the highway. Then hy declared:

"I already have them!..I never told you before, Grosh...But I...I'm a P3!" At that moment, a new lightning bolt lit up the sky and suddenly, the raccoon saw how Faise disappeared from that place, in the blink of an eye.

That night, Natany and Rhealle were working the night shift at the police station. Both were on duty at the scene while their colleagues patrolled different areas of the city. Suddenly, Natany's PADD rang. Renzar was surprised that someone could call her personal number at that time of night.

"Natany?... Are you... Are you... You?" A distressing voice was heard from the other side.

"Yes... Maret!.. It's me... Tell me!.. What's wrong with you!"

"Sorry Lilethe for calling at this time... But... I dreamed... I dreamed of my beloved Tagle!" Maret said, between sobs.

“Calm down Maret… I understand that you are still very affected. We all are, Maret” said Natany trying to comfort her.

"Lilethe... I know it sounds crazy... And I'm sorry to call you about this... But Tagle... Tagle... in the dream... Hy showed me the numbers 3589... That is, I visualized them in my mind..."

"Calm down Maret... It's normal to have nightmares"

"I... I called you because I feel it's something important" The skunktaur added, still sobbing.

"It's alright Marette. I have them… Calm down”

"You'll think I'm crazy... Sorry for bothering you at this time... Sorry"

“No… Don't apologize… Everything is fine Maret, please. Rest. I'll come visit you soon."

"Thank you, thank you Natany... Goodbye" The skunk said goodbye with a rueful voice.

"What's wrong, Nathan?" Rhealle asked.

"It's Maret, Tagle's widow... Hy said she dreamed of hym"

"Awww... Poor Maret... Hys pain must be immense"

"I know... 3589... Hmm... Rhealle!... Tagle's computer!" Natany said suddenly.

"Yeah... what's wrong?"

"Tagle was looking at an address on his computer before leaving the barracks!" Said the brown Renzar. She then went to what was the office of her late colleague. She turned on the device and located the map again. Later she asked the computer to enter those numbers into that quadrant. Automatically, a specific house appeared in the central street of that place. By searching the city's database, the renzar police found out that the house was rented by a certain Grosh Stward. They both looked at each other for a moment. Then, they decided to get on a patrol car and go to the place to investigate."

On the highway, Lilethe drove as best hy could. At that time of night, there were no vehicles on that stretch. The skunktaur's mind was confused and hy didn't know where they were going. The storm and hys consciousness altered by alcohol and hypnosis had completely disoriented hym. Esteban sat next to hym, took hys arm, looking outwards.

"Lilethe... Are you alright?" The human suddenly asked.

"I don't know... I don't know where we are" The nurse replied, stunned.

"Maybe it would be good to stop" Esteban suggested. Suddenly, in front of the PTV windshield, they both saw the figure of Faise appear illuminated by the vehicle's lights. Lilethe quickly turned to the side, causing the PTV to tip over and drag a few meters. Due to inertia, the mobile finally got stuck in a containment band, right on a curve in the road, in front of a deep cliff of about 20 meters. In the background, you could hear the lapping of the sea against the rocks.

Esteban and Lilethe, stunned by the blow, managed to escape unharmed thanks to the vehicle's safety mechanisms. Little by little they got up and managed to get out of the overturned PTV through the side door that was left above them.

The first to leave was Esteban. Then Lilethe with some difficulty. Outside, the rain and wind lashed out mercilessly, while lightning lit up the night.

"Are you alright Lilethe?"

"Yes... I... I'm sorry... Hy was there!... I had to turn... I... It's hard for me to control my body" The skunktaur said, standing up. Suddenly, Faise's figure again appeared in front of them. The couple couldn't believe what they saw.

“If you two had just relaxed and enjoyed my invitation to hang out for a while… Nothing would have happened. But you Lilethe, you had to challenge me” The skunktaur said calmly.

“Grrr… Shut up! You are a cursed!" The female yelled full of anger.

“I am not going to kill you, Lilethe. You still have to finish healing my paw. But I will erase everything that has happened from your head. Although you, Esteban... I can't control humans, nor can I erase your memory. Therefore, you have become a real threat to me. I will kill you."

"You are a monster!" Esteban yelled furiously.

"You call me a monster? Wasn't it the human race that gave life to all the hybrids and treated them as slaves to satisfy all their aberrations and baseness? Wasn't it your kind that created the skunktaurs and enslaved them?" from the beginning, marking our destiny with this paw on the chest?.. Don't you dare call me a monster!”

"That has changed... Can't you see it?... You're still resentful of a past you didn't even have to live... You look like Ugkar when I met hym..." Lilethe exclaimed, while another bolt of lightning lit up the sky.

“Oh… Ugkar… Sure! One of the failed experiments... Thank you for remembering my mission. Because it wasn't just your beauty, Lilethe, but your connection to that Ugkar that drew me to you."

"What do you want with Ugkar!" exclaimed Esteban.

“Ugkar is a weapon, just like me. We were born in the same circumstances. Only that hym was released when hy was a pup. Instead I continued my training to be who I am now. And I've come to retrieve our weapon. The mission that stupid Krim was not able to complete”

Esteban and Lilethe were stunned. Faise belonged to the same group that attempted to kidnap the Chakona skunktaurs and capture Ugkar, to return to the League of Non-Aligned Worlds. Esteban, in a defiant tone, added:

"Ugkar is not on this planet!"

“I know… But hy will surely come, knowing that you two are in danger. Because I know very well that hy saved you a couple of times from death. It's a shame hym isn't on this planet right now, don't you think?"

"Grrr... You're a jerk!" Lilethe exclaimed and then pounced on hym. But before hy could reach it, the nurse fell to the floor as Faise subdued hym with hys mind power.

"Ahhhh!" The female complained, holding hys head in hys hands.

"You won't remember a thing, Lilethe!" Faise exclaimed. Lightning flashed far on the horizon, while the wind and the sea roared with force. Esteban tried to defend Lilethe by attacking hym, but hy threw a small rock with hys telekinesis, which, like a projectile, easily went through the boy's belly, causing him to fall to the ground and begin to bleed.

Aaaayyyy! The human's cry of pain was heard in the middle of the storm. Lilethe, seeing Esteban wounded, gained strength of weakness and repelled for a moment, Faise's mental attack, approaching the boy.

"Esteban... My love... Resist." The nurse said sobbing. But looking closely, hy saw that the wound was serious and the bleeding was profuse. Hy tried to stop the bleeding, covering the wound with hys hand, which little by little was dyed red with Esteban's blood.

"Please resist my love... Resist!" Lilethe insisted whose tears mixed with the rain.

"Li... Lilethe... Listen to me... I love you... And always... I will always love you..." Esteban stammered trying to calm his lifemate down. Lilethe then gave him a tender kiss on his lips.

"That's enough," Faise said suddenly, eager to get it over with. Once again, hy attacked Lilethe's mind, to control and erase hys memories. But hy put up a stubborn resistance such as Faise had not seen in any chakat-kin. Lilethe rose to hys feet and inched toward hym, hys teeth clenched, trying to attack hym. But the enhanced skunktaur's mental power was too much for a normal purebred skunktaur like Lilethe, so soon, the nurse succumbed again and hy fell to the ground moaning in pain.

Faise was so focused on Lilethe that hy didn't realize that Esteban, despite his injury, had risen to his feet again and, in a swift run, had thrown himself at hym using all the weight of his body. By the time the skunktaur realized it, it was already too late to dodge the human's shock, taking the full blow. Due to inertia, both were thrown backwards, exceeding the limits of the edge of the road. In the middle of the rain and the night, skunktaur and human fell off the cliff into the sea. Lilethe, among the damage that Faise had caused in hys brain, managed to see some flashes of bright lights in the sky, which were confused with the lightning of the storm. After that image, hys consciousness faded, leaving hys lying on the ground, while the rain wet hys fur more and more.

“At the Central Park Municipal Rest House, meanwhile, Bram and Ben slept next to each other. Lightning flashes filtered through the window, illuminating the entire room. The old skunktaur trembled from time to time. The human tried to calm him down by stroking his back.

“Ben…Ben…Are you awake?” Bram whispered at one point in the night.

"I'm with you, old friend" He replied.

"Tell me... what good is wisdom to me if it can't save people who need saving?"

"Maybe it's not your role to save, but to guide..." The teacher suggested.

"No... There is no greater love than the one who gives his life for his friends... Isn't that so?" Bram replied with tears in hys eyes. Then hy added:

“I am 100 years older than you… I have seen many humans grow and die… I have seen too much, too much!” hy concluded sobbing.

"Calm down Bram... I'm here..." Said the human.

"Hug me please, Ben...Hug me" Bram begged sobbing. The Professor, trying to contain hym, snuggled hym against him. The old skunk was particularly sad tonight, thought the human, who had met Bram in the middle of a storm like this, in the Archipelago, some time ago.
