From the server:
Ludvik's new hub is a cold, endless black coast of a pre-storm blue sea, surrounded by either sparse or dense mixed forest, with a wide and empty road winding along it. Everything is covered with thick endless teal fog mixing into low clouds with an invisible sun illuminating them from the other side. The steps of deer and the rumble of squirrels fill the air, the periodic chirping of a rare, quiet bird - everything sounds somehow too far away to be from this world. Long bridges leading to nowhere across endless rivers, empty parks, an incredibly lifeless coastline, the remains of civilization along a wide empty road - abandoned cars, broken telephone booths, a cheap motel, surrounded by the occasional rumbling howl of something huge. From time to time, the "huge" appears in the field of view - giant humpback whales emerging from the clouds and diving back into them. Despite the eerie abandonment, an atmosphere of sleepy calm, thoughtfulness, and melancholy romance reigns here.
Everyone who comes arrives at a stereotypical roadside diner, crisp with neon lights, with an old record player in the corner filled with dark jazz records - the only warm spot - both temperature- and colour-wise amid the greenish-grey fog. Here, a cup of coffee, a full creamer, and a random slice of whether strawberry or lime pie appears on the ready-to-use tables for them. There is no one, but you can manage in the kitchen by making typical roadside food: potatoes, burgers, deep-fried fish, scrambled eggs and sausages - everything is accessible in the fridges. Anyone and anything may enter here, but only with the permission of the owner may they exit.
The place for rituals - his temple - is a high stone gazebo, surrounded by a crescent of acacia trees.

I find it that constant fear (which is a 'clever' reference to my character's playlist I update every time there's some breakthrough or breakdown) usually desensitises people. We had a few instances in which we were oversaturated by horror which led to us not really reacting to another terrifying thing. So peppering horror in moments of peace is a good way to do this, else horror becomes routine, and routine becomes boredom.
Oooooohh, KULT Divinity Lost! I love it so much and didn't expect to see it here on this website. ^^ I really like your art depicting this kind of world with these entities. Lack of colors fits. And this one has a very peaceful feeling to it, but I don't know if that was your intent.
And well, that's a nice guest room. Very own slice of Limbo indeed. Even spawns coffee and pie, lol.

I have been playing in my friend's campaign for about a year now, so my profile does have some illustrations, though mostly full-rendered ones, while I make a lot of sketches for the game itself. It's a great setting, and I am eager to finish the game I'm running now (which is VtM) and start my long-produced KULT after it.
It is peaceful in his slice of Limbo, though. Safe. Few visitors he has described it as "romantic melancholy", and it fits. Endless mists, abandoned roads and sky whales.
