Arrangement: The Man on the Flying Trapeze
A simplified take I did on a popular song from the year 1868, "The Man on the Flying Trapeze," for alto saxophone and piano. Alternate titles for the song are "The Flying Trapeze" and "The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze." The song, according to Wikipedia, was written about Jules Léotard, a French acrobatic performer and aerialist who developed the art of trapeze. He also created and popularized the one-piece gym wear that now bears his name (in addition to inspiring the song). I personally was never fond of the circus myself, but having heard the song from watching so many old cartoons (Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, etc.), I felt it was time to go ahead and do this arrangement.
