Esteban has a half-sister, named Ángela Melinao, who lives in Terra, in the South American Union.

He didn't know it, until she came to Chakona to look for her father Joseph. The old man had serious health problems and he traveled to Chakona because only he wanted Esteban's forgiveness and to see his son for the last time. Joseph knew he didn't have much time to live, but he didn't tell anyone, not even his daughter Angela.
