A while ago I had to deal with a certain power company that had 'issues' with their online web payment system. I ended up paying twice as the first payment didn't register and then after the sceond one did get posted, the first one showed up. I asked for a refund of the first payment and they didn't have a process for doing this. Refund? What? Why would you want that? They did finally give me my money back, but they charged me transaction fees, check writing fees, etc. By the time I was done, I had paid THEM $50 extra for the privledge of them paying me a refund.

More calls, supervisors, and eventually it all got resolved, no harm, no foul, but it was frustrating enough for me to draw up this comic.
