I put my own spin on this suggestion, because with Fox's name, having him as an FBI agent was an X-Files reference I couldn't pass up. 😎

Better question: Are they interrogating the Alien in Sol System (Our Solar System), or is this in the Lylat system?
If it is the latter, They technically are not aliens, as they are Lylatians native to the Lylat System. "Alien" basically means "Outsider" or "Foreigner", a being not native to a nation, Region, Planet or Star System.
...So I kind of feel sad that they are not having a HUMAN in the hot seat, as a Human would be the Alien to the Lylatians... It would also be a neat Reference to Planet 51...

That makes her a NATIVE of Lylat... A STAR SYSTEM.
Adding to that, Fox Mcloud is a Native of the planet Corneria, which is the Main Planet of the Lylat System as far as we know from the given lore. (Corneria is considered the Earth-Like planet of the Lylat Star System.)
Therefore, they are all natives of the Lylat Star System. Its all there in the Lore.

Well, Papetoon is also still part of Lylat... And the whole "Fox is native to Papetoon" is only in the Nintendo Power comic series, where Fara Phoenix Originated from. He is otherwise considered a native to Corneria in almost every part of the Star Fox series.
Then again, Nintendo barely even brushes up on their actual origins anyway. (Heck, when was the last time we got any data on the planet Cerinia???)

Papetoon was also mentioned in the later Star Fox games, even the decent Starlink game. With even on the main guys involved with Star Fox stating his mother is alive on Papetoon, but a bit estranged with him, based on his decision on becoming a mercenary like his late father. But yeah lore is pretty scattered with Nintendo.
