After that last large picture, I wanted to make something small and quick. I've never done an ACEO trade before, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I might do more of these some time, but not immediately.
This is my part of one with ExiiinKa.
This was much quicker than most of what I've made recently, and the scope of the picture isn't quite as grand, but it was a nice change of pace to do something small that didn't take weeks to complete. ;)
Next, I'm planning on doing some work on my costume for this year, and making some more art that will extend http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5408230/

let's see let's see... template tree, quick brushes for the body... ah-ha!, what is this?, how did you get the water to look textured, as if painted on paper, instead of flat?, was it quick? :>
My favorite detail?, the finger touching the water and the little ripples. One can imagine many things happening there... *whistles*
How long did this piece take you to do?

Yep. The trees are from a brush. I've used them before, but usually paint over them a bit more, to minimize that template look.
The shading on the body was done rather quickly, as well.
The water was actually one of the quickest parts of the picture. It is simply a gradient, with a bit of texture added on top.
The ripples and reflections are what really keeps it from looking bland. I went with still water, because I thought the ripples would look rather nice, and the smooth water would act like negative space and balance out the sky at the top of the picture.
Overall, this one probably took me around 5 hours, so it was much faster than the more epic pieces I do.
It was refreshing to make something that didn't take forever, after http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5408230/
The scene and lighting were rather fun, too.

Thought...
so deep in thought.
I touch the surface of emotion, every little ripple like the breath of the wind.
Such thoughts weave, such dreams to believe.
I could see myself, first, it was clear,
then, with my mind confused,
all the clarity seemed to disappear,
but, after time, when the surface of my life calmed,
I could once again see what I am;
beyond the choas of my stories,
beyond the dreams that I stand.
so deep in thought.
