We all have our favorite Christmas memories. In 1978, I met Gloria, love of my life. Our first Christmas together was spent in La Angeles. I was the flight mechanic aboard a DC-8 being used in a movie called ‘The Pilot’, so the whole trip was actually quite memorable.
I think one of the most wonderful moments came to us courtesy of Mr. Rod Serling, when we watched an episode of the Twilight Zone titled: The Night of the Meek (1959)
After a derelict Santa Claus (played by the infamous Art Carney) is fired on Christmas Eve, he finds a mysterious bag that gives out presents. With this bag he sets out to fulfill his one wish - to see the less fortunate inherit the bounties of Christmas.
And there was Rod giving one of his famous intros:
This is Mr. Henry Corwin, normally unemployed, who once a year takes the lead role in the uniquely popular American institution, that of the department-store Santa Claus in a road-company version of 'The Night Before Christmas'. But in just a moment Mr. Henry Corwin, ersatz Santa Claus, will enter a strange kind of North Pole which is one part the wondrous spirit of Christmas and one part the magic that can only be found... in the Twilight Zone.
At the end of this wonderful thirty minutes, he summed it up as only he could.
A word to the wise to all the children of the twentieth century, whether their concern be pediatrics or geriatrics, whether they crawl on hands and knees and wear diapers or walk with a cane and comb their beards. There's a wondrous magic to Christmas and there's a special power reserved for little people. In short, there's nothing mightier than the meek. And a Merry Christmas to each and all.
This week’s prompt is a very special story exchange – special because we’ve never done it before.
Remember – it’s all for fun.
Listed below are all the writers in the story exchange. So you know, I took each writer in the order they threw their name in the hat, and then used a random number generator for the pick.
Now then – the story.
Story length should be five pages give or take a page.
The story does not have to be a holiday story, unless you want it to be.
The story should be upbeat; nothing gruesome, pornographic, or depressing.
The story does not have to be about the other person, but it should at least be reflective of what interests them. Visit their page, and use what they have there for any background information you might garner.
I will send the name of your target… er… fellow prompter in a note.
Be sure to place the link for your completed story in the comments section of this post so we can find it.
Most importantly, have fun, and always remember; we are all writers together.
Do not post before Thursday as this will be for this Thursday’s prompt. When you do post, be sure to send a shout to the gift receiver with a link.
And just so you know… I think you guys are the best. I am proud to know you.

I wouldn't panic, the time-limits on these things aren't hard and fast. What V means is that it should be completed by Thursday week if possible. i.e.: this is the prompt for Thursday 7th December but it should be completed preferably by Thursday 14th December. If I'm wrong V can correct me.
I'm certainly not going to get it completed by this Thursday either! ;)
