Requested by another YouTube user, this is my simplified take for alto saxophone, vibraphone, and piano on the original 1975-83 theme for America's Game, Wheel of Fortune, entitled "Big Wheels." It was one of many game show theme written by the late but great Alan Thicke, mostly famous for playing Jason Seaver on the television sitcom "Growing Pains." The theme I've attempted to arrange here was used when NBC began airing Wheel in 1975, and ran until 1983, when the show debuted a concurrent nighttime version for syndication. (The daytime show ended in 1991, but the nighttime Wheel continues to air even to this day; the current season will be Pat Sajak's final season, however, at which point Ryan Seacrest will take over for him.) With the show now airing 10 times a week, Merv Griffin found it more financially prudent to write his own theme for the show, and that became the very famous song entitled "Changing Keys." Many fans (according to a now-defunct website I read once) would tell you "Big Wheels" is the superior theme, however. You be the judge.

Before Pat Sajak and Vanna White, though, the show was hosted by Chuck Woolery, with Susan Stafford at the puzzle board.
