Barring whether or not Godzilla and Space Godzilla are any different besides the spines-I haven’t actually watched the movies or anything, I wouldn’t know-these last three pieces of yours paint a picture I love way too much. Let me try to sum it up.
Some sort of lifestyle shift happened with the kaijus: they were the dominant, aggressive beasts once, but now the skyscraper sized titans have settled down into something resembling normal modern life…although the transition has not been smooth. Godzilla was left in a bad way, accepting the transition but feeling something missing in his new life, becoming a tubby washout as he simply tries to live his new life with no direction. Mothra seems to have adjusted better; hard to really tell from just this pic, but they don’t give off depression energy, so I assume they’re doing well. And then there’s Ghidorah in that first pic, rejecting the lifestyle change his fellow kaiju have had and desperately trying to relive the glory of the old days; in practice, that just makes him a nuisance picking fights with other monsters.
I’m not normally a Godzilla/kaiju fan, but I love this angle way too much, really hope to see more.
