Something for worldbuilding. I've conceived of a location in my fictional world, a temple site that's being heavily reinforced with technology to augment its function. The result of magitech heatpumps creates a localized coldspot in a tropical region, big enough to force snow to fall where it shouldn't be possible. The agitated magic also seems to generate something akin to an aurora as air and dust particles are ionized by the mere operation of the otherworld barrier within the city center. While there's certainly more festivities within the city walls, there's no harm in giving the outside some flair. Lights are hung from the machicolation of the city walls, same goes from pylons to walls, giving the whole city a crown-like appearance in the dark. Truly a sight to see for those viewing from afar.
