1) Why does the Adler Planetarium have a picture of ol' DIck?
2) If you're ever in a situation where somebody is asking for a particular nine-digit number, and you feel that it wouldn't be in your best interests to give them your actual nine-digit number, you can give them 567-68-0515. That's ol' Dick's number. <_<

The number I gave isn't a NPA-NXX-XXXX ; it's nine digits, not ten. >_>
For the one I gave, the first two digits (used to) have to do with what state you were in when you got the number - both mine and Dick's are that way. The other seven were random.
Back in the day, you didn't even have to *get* a number like that until you got your first real job. I spent about a decade not having a number like that, but a change in the tax laws meant that I had to get one, even though I wasn't old enough for a real job.
