Hello, everyone!
spelunkersal here.
Well, I know it's been for-fucking-ever since a page update, -again-. But being back in school, plus all the other shit going on in my life right now makes it preeetty hard to make time for this. But for all it's worth, here's the start of Arc 3. Took me a while becuase I had to make the room in 3d, and I'm cel-shading everyone to be able to fit into the environment better.
I'm gonna call this the Epic Arc, because it's gonna be like 80 billion pages long. Notice the "part 1" I put down there in the lower left corner! :O
Anyway, here we introduce the character you, the fans, came to a consensus to through majority vote. Sean Wiley the Charmeleon. His pause when Gian introduces his roommate as his boyfriend is from general surprise it seems. :) Is he really cool with it, or just playin' cool? Also featuring a bit of Roy, Jr's brother from These are My Reflections as he pays a visit to his favorite brother!
We're in for the long haul. Like I said, this arc is quite long. I should be getting some time this summer to be able to work on it more often than now, so let's hope. :) Not sure if the cel-shading and 3d background will actually shave time like I thought it would, but at least the pages look better! Er uh, nevermind the couple of weird faces I drew on Gian in a couple panels. >> Oh well.

Part... 1...? About 80 billion pages long...? 8D I think I just came. XD lol jkjk Awesome work as always, Sal. And on a side note, Gian actually looks genuinely sexy in that second-to-last panel. ^_^ And for all you Gian fans out there who are reading this, I mean no offense to him. Besides, like I'm gonna slam the cute Flamey like that. *snuggles Gian off-camera* XD
Hey Sal, I have a question that I'm sure you've been asked before, and please forgive me if I am putting too much thought into it, but, with Pokemon in pre-evolved forms, do they start out as their base form when they are born and evolve? Will they evolve later on when they get older? Or are they born in the Pokemon stage they are in? Like did Hanbei start as a Squirtle and will someday becomea Blastoise? Or was he born and will always be a Wartortle? I suppose I am just a curious demoncoon!
OMG, I just had like an epic fan-girlish squeal when I saw this. Everything about this is so epic, from the new shading, to Roy's first comic appearence, the new character, the fact that this arc is gonna be longer excites me, and the nerdiness of SmashBros/Magic cards just sent me over the edge. Eeeeeeee!
-calms down- Ok. I'm good now....till page 2 at least.

Been waiting for this. I can't wait to see how the story rolls out but am looking even more forward to learning more about the characters. Once again I find myself getting heavily emotionally involved with the characters. While that's a good sign from you guy that you're displaying fascinating characters and story lines my insane little mind can't help but go all neurotic self comparison. Especially over Santino.
Let's just see how things play out.

Well, this is rather interesting. Brawl and Magic are pretty much all I did with my friends back in Northern California. It's a bit strange thinking that other people did pretty much the same thing. Feels like I'm in the story. Yay! Here's hoping for some hawt, steamy lovin's...
I do hope his reaction is at least benign. Even if he's not as comfortable with it as he's letting on, so long as he doesn't mean them ill, he scores major points for accepting it with a "Huh" and moving on. A demeanor of support while he gets used to the idea is pretty awesome - in a way, just as much so as honestly taking in stride would be.
Well there WOULD be card games if poor Dreamous had someone to play Magic with. :O
Buuuut, we DO have a crap ton of card decks since he collects them. But we hate poker. XD We should invite people to play Canasta. Speaking of which, you should come over more often. :(

It's back!!! I love this comic, and new updates are always awesome. The new Charmeleon character looks pretty neat, and he is instantly made cooler due to the fact that he is bringing in Magic cards...those just too fun.
As far as the writing goes, the use of 'lizza' is an awesome, creative little touch, and the Gian's newfound confidence is just wonderful.
For the art, well...it's amazing as always! The 3d backgrounds blend in seamlessly, and the characters are so expressive!
You guys are the best.

Lol the background looks like my old college dorm room. It would be funny if every college dorm got their furniture from the same place. Either way really cool background and I can't wait for more to come. This is probably the best comic I've read in a loooooong time. Keep up the great work guys!
You know, I really wanted to comment on the shading style here. ^__^
It look pretty good and fitting. It suits the characters, adds some 3d-flair and really DOES integrate the characters much better into the background.
Also, I recognized something... is Jr somehow smaller/thinner than before? He's almost as tall as Gian here! :-P
Anyway, great new start.
Carry on!!! ^^

I see you guys have tried to work with shadows and more new stuff... Now it seems to be more realistic than before -which something I like too much.
But... there are somethings I could modify... If I were able to.
But first I want to review other things (maybe I'm not a good drawer and stuff, but I have a lot of experience on criticizing):
A) Background: I see some problems at the background. Well... it seems that the background does not fit correctly with the characters. It's... um... too hard? It's hard to explain in words, but... I found the lines too thin in some parts. And... I could say that shadows doesn't fit with characters' shadows. But it's something that I can't know why I don't like it, especially on the 6th vignette. I like the background on vignette 2, though. I give it a 5 out 10.
B) Story: This is what I normally give more importance. Good drawn comics are okay, but I hate them if the story is incompressible and boring, thing that doesn't happen here. I loved how you've added a "single small touch of suspense". Introducing a new character can be hard if the writer/drawer does not try to show it's role, but you were careful and you've managed to introduced it so it makes the reader a question, or other feeling. But, there are some "mistakes". So I give you 9 out of 10.
C) Character designs: Now that they're shadows, it looks really better. I love how the shadows make a great work on vignette 2. But I don't like too much Sean's design... it's... how to explain... maybe are the glasses, it looks quite strange... If I were you, I could give a slight orange touch, and no totally transparent. I'm not going to forget about Roy, specifically his teeth. It could be better if they're a bit more spiky... like Junior. I think I'll give you 8 out of 10.
D) Miscellaneous: I think bubbles are okay. And using fonts now instead of handwriting it's something I love a lot. But I don't like SFX in bubbles, and if it's the case, I would do the bubble quite transparent... And I liked some games and other stuff's references, something I like a lot. I think I could give you 8 out of 10.
Conclusion: It's not the perfect page to be the beginning of this arc. But it's good. You've scored a total of 30 points out of 40, which it means a 7.5 over 10. Good work!

Hmmm... so I remembered how much I absolutely loved the first one mainly because I wish I was Gian's place. But more importantly I never watched because I figured the series was over. If I would have known I could have cast my vote for Falco! *grumbles angrily*
But you know what? I'm just glad its moving again. Really missed Gian and Junior's chemistry.
