(Cronus's Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7meCXhdIJCA)
Cronus is absolutely gigantic, a planet-sized being resembling a mix of dragons and felines appeareance-wise, with fur covering his enormous body. His body is transparent, though it gives off a soft glow that makes the details of it still easy to see. He got a pair of feline ears as well as a pair of antennas of which the tips look like small planets with rings. Sharp claws are coming out of his paws and his belly has a scale pattern suitable for a dragon. His eyes or at least the front of it are the only non-transparent part of his body, being a red color. There is a big X-shaped scar across his face. He got a ring like of a planet hovering around his torso and he has a pair of wings which give off a nebula-like appeareance. Without his tail, his size is already at about 125000 kilometers which is about ten times as big as the entirety of Planet Earth or about as big as Planet Saturn. But then there's also his dragon-like tail with three rings attached to it before the tail's tip and spikes along the entirety of the tail. That tail is about 250000 kilometers long, twice as long as the rest of his body, making his complete body length 375000 kilometers big, about thirty times as big as Earth or almost three times as big as Jupiter.
"Huh. That took a while...", Cronus remarks with his intimidatingly powerful voice, "Chapter 40 already and only now I properly show up? Oh well, best to inform potentially new readers about what they missed then, hehehe... I need something to destroy Heaven with before I can just destroy that entire dimension, as the destruction of the Heaven dimension is a vital part of achieving my goal. The writer already referenced a whole bunch of stuff from theology in this story... so it's not that surprising for me to find out now that what I need to destroy Heaven is an object that played a vital role in theology too... The Lance of Longinus. Also known as the Holy Lance. Some may wonder why something capable of destroying Heaven even exists... to which the answer is its history in this universe making it a strongly divine weapon, strong enough to create or destroy even something as big as a dimension like Heaven is, though a feat this big would cause the Holy Lance to break in the process, making it completely unusable afterwards... so it would make more sense to use it for smaller scale things... but of course, hehehe, I only want to use it once and only for one big thing anyway, so this isn't an issue to me at all. I wonder what potential readers think... Do they expect me to get stopped in time or not? Hehehe, well I certainly don't intend to be stopped, but the so-called good guys can try, see where that gets them. Now, my proper introduction in this story is over now, isn't it? Don't worry, hehehe... you'll see me again soon enough."
Meanwhile eventually in Pecado Town, Spirit the Angel Espeon decides to bring up something she has been noticing: "Naughty... something strange is going on... I mean, with me. For some reason, I seem to be able to... uhh... admire your looks a lot more and... feeling hatred towards that Angel Annihilape and Puruel for killing Lucy..." "I thought you're not able to feel hatred... or lust for someone's body. Yeah, definitely, something is wrong. ... Something in this town must be "corrupting" you, since based on what you tell me... you have an increasing capability to "sin" the longer we are in this town."
Sure, this might seem like a good thing, considering how much I've shown by now that Spirit actually dislikes how unreasonably pure she has to be, but both of the girls understand this to be bad news, considering how in a different story Spirit (and with that also Naughty due to their connection) literally died (before getting revived by Lucy who also fixed what caused it at that time) when certain events caused Spirit to become capable of feelings things such as lust, which was shown to be as lethal to her as love was to Naughty in the first story I uploaded to DeviantArt.
In other words, just like Spirit can tell now: "Something in this town... is starting to make me able to experience the things considered impure... and that's actually gonna kill us if we don't stop and undo that corruption or somehow make it survivable for me much like you became able to feel love thanks to Mistletoe powering me up in a particular way back then." Naughty then questions: "Wait, why don't we just leave the town?", though the effects of the town on Spirit already started and they do find out via testing it that leaving the town doesn't make Spirit fully pure again, so their best shot at saving their own lives now actually is to fully uncover what the whole deal with Pecado Town is and hope that they get a chance to survive with whatever new information they may gain that way... or hope that while they are busy here, Themis and Uranus achieve whatever allows Spirit to survive being "impure" with whatever means they can find in Heaven, since they're searching for what's going on regarding the whole angels-have-to-be-good-and-demons-have-to-be-bad thing too.
But it's late now and the corruption doesn't happen too quickly yet, so much like Naughty and Spirit do within a hotel, Themis and co also get some sleep for the now beginning night, with the acknowledgement that they're almost there... and the hope, or more like begging, that this whole journey will give Themis some answers to what's up with Lucy being nowhere after her death. Fitting to how they effectively hold onto faith, onto believing they can get through it all and reach their final destination, Themis thinks of the Skillet song "Collide":
(Skillet's "Collide": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1UBKK9UyYU)
"How long can we hold on?
Can we hold on?
Hold on!
There's something deep inside
that keeps my faith alive,
when all you can do
is hide from the fear
that's deep inside of you.
Something, something, something,
something, something, something
to hold me close when I don't know.
There's something deep inside
that keeps my faith alive."
(Theme for Heaven's Empyrean Layer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ck-obcd52I)
On the next day then, Themis along with her parents, the Lake Guardians and Six get through the portal into the eleventh and supposedly final Layer of Heaven. This eleventh Layer of Heaven is called the Empyrean and is on top of what looks like golden clouds, with fire circling around the entirety of this Layer, as well as several fire spheres of various sizes hovering all over this place. Being in what she thinks to be the final Layer of Heaven, the realization of what it means to almost be there, almost facing the one who killed her girlfriend, it starts to really hit her all at once, realizing that she might get killed by the same person who is responsible for Lucy's death and how close she is to the encounter that could end this way. And everyone she still cares about might die along with her.
Themis breaks down, struggling to breathe, her heart racing like crazy. She feels like she is dying right here and right now. This is how it ends, isn't it? Not even making it to the end goal, too weak to do so. Weak and fragile. She wants to give up and go home but knows that's not an option anymore. She can tell the others being concerned about her with what symptoms she is showing now, but everything around her feels numb, while being in her own body feels like hell even more than normally. Mackenzie recognizes Themis having a panic attack right now and turns out to be the most helpful there, since even though she can be oblivious to the feelings of others, she has a deep understanding of feelings because of who she is, telling the extremely distressed Angel Zorua to focus on her breath, only on her breath and as little else as possible, and breathe slowly. Breathing in... and out. In... and out. In... and out. Six witnessing that panic attack makes him start to actually feel a bit of empathy towards that Angel Zorua but he then just tells himself that he is probably just misinterpreting how he feels, assuming that he must simply want to kill her more gruesomely once this journey has reached its end. Themis is safe with the others here, Mackenzie makes sure to repeatedly tell her that. After pausing for long enough for the small Dark Type Pokémon to calm down again and waiting for her to be ready to continue, the group gets going again, at which point Mackenzie explains everything needed to know about panic attacks to Themis for her to know what it is and how to deal with it if she gets it again.
The group of seven then has to get through a very dangerous path with lava lakes and moving fire spheres, though Six isn't as bothered by that due to his immunity against fire, with this only becoming more troublesome when a Gigantamax Angel Centiskorch starts chasing after them, with them ultimately managing to get away through a passage too small for the gigantic firey centipede. "Damn.", Uranus comments, "I thought the Temperance Layer was hot, but the Empyrean here takes it to a whole new level." "I'm always hot.", Six says, posing.
