Like I've said before. this is some next level Stockholm Syndrome😅 both his mind and body got twisted beyond repair, and he's sympathizing with the enemy. his girlfriend is dead, and he can't even face his comrades because of what happened to him. he has been taking L after L, with nothing to show for it. he can't even cure his body, and is forced to accept it. the only positive so far is his dragon hubby, but even then that kind of goes back to the Stockholm syndrome thing😅

As far as I know, in the case of the “syndrome”, victims tend to experience compassion and empathy for those who caused them pain (in general terms). It's the same as if Gervic started to worry about Bob😆. On the contrary, Vlag always tried to support Gervic emotionally and “physically🌝”. Didn't let him go crazy and commit suicide. Then “love blossomed.” They were always there for each other. They are literally ready to die for each other, this is the highest form of devotion. And if for you love is “Stockholm Syndrome”, then I hasten to disappoint you, but it seems that approximately 96% of humanity suffers from it😁. The remaining 4% have not yet decided.

It wasn't something he was born with, when it comes to preferences. he chose to stay because he literally had no other options, and he was too far gone mentally to even believe he would be welcomed back home. And like I said before, he started sympathizing with those who had him captive. He chose to be with Vlag because really, what else was there for him? And suppression isn't the same as curing. he physically can't get rid of the curse unless the author says he can. And it doesn't look like that's happening anytime soon. He's forced to deal with something some creep gave him, like a permanent STD😅

I support you 100%. Gervic and Vlagg fell in love, and our dragon NEVER humiliated the wolf. On the contrary, when he found out about Bob bullying Gerv, Vlagg flew into a rage and punished the mage. He also worried about the wolf when he took the potion and almost became insane. And Gervic himself? He sees that not all dragons are scum like Bob and Garn (in IRL they're good, I remember that, so I'm talking about their canon selves), and Vlagg is the most relatable person to him. If anyone will dare offend to one of them.... I'm afraid to even imagine the consequences for someone who dares to do so. So yes, there's no Stockholm syndrome here.

Gervic's had plenty of chances to escape before, and always had ONE reason to stay. Even after all that's happened so far, he's pursuing the right thing to do. Let's not forget that Gervic got himself into this mess because he was an exemplary commander. He's kept his own motives close to doing the right thing, at most points, almost without reward. I have a feeling something very heavy is going to happen soon.

Frankly, I understand Gervic's feelings. I was in a similar mood myself a couple days ago because of some problems. And I really want to hug my favorite wolf and comfort him somehow.

Don't worry. Logically, the complete extermination of an entire race of intelligent beings is not even close to possible. Especially in the world of the Middle Ages.
